  1. 36. Paleoclimate perspective on Earth's climate sensitivity and feedbacks

    Författare :Martin Renoult; Thorsten Mauritsen; Navjit Sagoo; Masa Kageyama; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Paleoclimate; Climate sensitivity; Climate feedbacks; Last Glacial Maximum; Pliocene; Snowball Earth; Emergent constraint; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi;

    Sammanfattning : The addition of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere due to human activities is the main driver of global warming. How much the Earth will warm in the future is often represented by the Earth's equilibrium climate sensitivity (ECS), the long-term temperature response considering the effect of climate feedbacks after an abrupt and sustained doubling of atmospheric CO2 from pre-industrial concentration. 2. 37. Climate change mitigation in China

    Författare :Bo Xu; Ronald Wennersten; Kerstin Kuchta; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; China; Climate change mitigation; Environmental Kuznets Curve EKC hypothesis; Mitigation target; Business-as-usual BAU scenarios; Policy instruments;

    Sammanfattning : China has been experiencing great economic development and fast urbanisation since its reforms and opening-up policy in 1978. However, these changes are reliant on consumption of primary energy, especially coal, characterised by high pollution and low efficiency. LÄS MER

  3. 38. Climate Change, Dengue and Aedes Mosquitoes : Past Trends and Future Scenarios

    Författare :Jing Liu-Helmersson; Joacim Rocklöv; Åke Brännström; Eduardo Massad; Richard Paul; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dengue; mathematical modelling; vectorial capacity; DTR; Aedes aegypti; Aedes albopictus; climate change; Europe; vector invasion; abundance; dengue; matematisk modellering; vektorkapacitet; DTR; Aedes aegypti; Aedes albopictus; klimatförändring; Europa; vektor invasion; epidemiologi; Epidemiology;

    Sammanfattning : Background Climate change, global travel and trade have facilitated the spread of Aedes mosquitoes and have consequently enabled the diseases they transmit (dengue fever, Chikungunya, Zika and yellow fever) to emerge and re-emerge in uninfected areas. Large dengue outbreaks occurred in Athens in 1927 and in Portuguese island, Madeira in 2012, but there are almost no recent reports of Aedes aegypti, the principal vector, in Europe. LÄS MER

  4. 39. Fish population responses to climate change : Causes and consequences

    Författare :Matilda L. Andersson; Peter Eklöv; Brian Hayden; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; browning; climate change; DOC; intraspecific variation; metabolism; resource use; warming;

    Sammanfattning : Lake environments are heterogeneous, and animals show a variety of adaptations to deal with this heterogeneity. Fish often show intraspecific variation in diet, metabolism, and behavior, corresponding to their habitat use. LÄS MER

  5. 40. How will climate change working life?

    Författare :Karin Lundgren Kownacki; Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; occupational heat stress; climate change; productivity; international standards; India;

    Sammanfattning : Heat stress has been studied extensively. However, in the contemporary context of climate change there is a lack of information on the extent of future heat stress and its consequences, especially in occupational settings. LÄS MER
