21. Simulation and assessment of particle transport in fusion plasmas
Sammanfattning : A civilized society need energy to function. An attractive new energy source is nuclear fusion with its abundance of fuel, intrinsic safety and limited environmental impact. Although the concept of fusion for energy has been well understood for over a century, to create it here on earth has been more irksome. LÄS MER
22. 3D Magnetic Nulls and Regions of Strong Current in the Earth's Magnetosphere
Sammanfattning : Plasma, a gas of charged particles exhibiting collective behaviour, can be found everywhere in our vast Universe. The characteristics of plasma in very distant parts of the Universe can be similar to characteristics in our solar system and near-Earth space. LÄS MER
23. Computational Aeroacoustics Based on Large Eddy Simulation and Acoustic Analogies
Sammanfattning : The thesis presents a numerical method developed by the author and its applications for computing the generated sound by an unsteady flow field and its propagation. The full equations of motion for compressible and unsteady flows describe both flow field and sound generation and propagation. LÄS MER
24. Numerical modeling of deforming bubble transport related to cavitating hydraulic turbines
Sammanfattning : Cavitation is a problem in many hydroelectric power plants since it can cause adverse effects on performance and damage to nearby solid surfaces. The concerns of this thesis are the numerical aspects of flow simulations in cavitating hydraulic turbines which contain several difficulties: turbulent and complex flows, steady and moving parts of the geometry, bubble transport and cavitation development. 25. A Level-set Flamelet Library Model for Premixed Turbulent Combustion
Sammanfattning : The modelling of premixed turbulent combustion has been studied. Premixed turbulent combustion occurs in a range of applications, such as gas turbines and spark-ignition engines. LÄS MER
