  1. 1. Numerical Simulations of Cooling Concepts Related to Gas Turbine Combustors

    Författare :Andreas Abdon; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Motors and propulsion systems; plasma; combustor; gas turbine; cooling; numerical simulations; turbulence; ribs; impingement; Gases; fluid dynamics; plasmas; fluiddynamik; Gaser; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik;

    Sammanfattning : The mean by which a gas turbine combustor is cooled is of major importance for the efficiency and emission performance of the machine. The trends of increasing top cycle temperature and leaner combustion have also been accompanied by a need of efficient use of the cooling air. LÄS MER

    Författare :Per Amnéus; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Skeletal mechanism; Mechanism reduction; n-heptane; iso-octane; formaldehyde; methane; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Physics; Fysik; Detailed chemistry; Kinetic calculations; Engine knock; Homogeneous charge compression ignition; HCCI; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Amnéus;

    Sammanfattning : Calculations on a Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine have been performed. Zero-dimensional models were used. The simplest model compressed the gas to auto-ignition, using temperature and pressure at a certain crank angle position obtained from engine experiments. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In the work described in the present thesis, laser techniques for combustion engine diagnostics were developed and applied. The main techniques were laser-induced incandescence (LII) and laser-induced fluorescence (LIF), used for both flame and engine diagnostics. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On Radiative Heat Transfer Modeling with Relevance for Combustor and Biomass Furnaces

    Författare :Mehdi Bahador; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; termodynamik; fluiddynamik; plasma; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; plasmas; Gaser; Thermal Radiation; Scattering; Heat load; Gases; fluid dynamics; Biomass Furnaces; framdrivningssystem; Motorer; Motors and propulsion systems;

    Sammanfattning : Thermal radiation sometimes is the dominating heat transfer mode in combustion chambers and furnaces and therefore in the design of many relevant industrial facilities prediction of it is necessary. During previous years many research efforts in the radiative heat transfer field have originated and many methods and models from simple to complex have been developed. LÄS MER
