6. Passengers’ choices in multimodal public transport systems : A study of revealed behaviour and measurement methods
Sammanfattning : The concept of individual choice is a fundamental aspect when explaining and anticipating behavioural interactions with, and responses to, static and dynamic travel conditions in public transport (PT) systems. However, the empirical rounding of existing models used for forecasting travel demand, which itself is a result of a multitude of individual choices, is often insufficient in terms of detail and accuracy. 7. Creating space for action - Supporting behaviour change by making sustainable transport opportunities available in the world and in the mind
Sammanfattning : The aim of the work presented in this thesis is to contribute to the knowledge of how to create conditions for individuals to change their travel behaviour in a more sustainable direction. Earlier studies point to potential contributions through exploration of the individual’s process of behaviour change, addressing the role of the design of the transport system, as well as investigating the potential effects of enabling structural interventions within the transport system. 8. Understanding the Impacts of Weather and Climate Change on Travel Behaviour
Sammanfattning : Human behaviour produces massive greenhouse gas emissions, which trigger climate change and more unpredictable weather conditions. The fluctuation of daily weather corresponds to variations of everyday travel behaviour. This influence, although is less noticeable, can have a strong impact on the transport system. LÄS MER
9. Vägar inom räckhåll : Spåren efter resande i det förindustriella bondesamhället
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the importance of human patterns of movement and interfaces in the local community and the constituents of peripheral forest communities, taking roads and human patterns of movement as the starting point. Questions are raised concerning how people have related to roads and travel - institutionally or flexibly. LÄS MER
10. Speed characteristics of urban streets based on driver behaviour studies and simulation
Sammanfattning : The objective of the study was to gain in-depth knowledge of speed relationships for urban streets. The speed characteristics were examined using a number of methods for data collection. LÄS MER
