  1. 1. Capturing travel entities to facilitate travel behaviour analysis : A case study on generating travel diaries from trajectories fused with accelerometer readings

    Författare :Adrian Corneliu Prelipcean; Yusak Octavius Susilo; Gyözö Gidofalvi; Stefan van der Spek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; travel diary automation; trajectory segmentation; travel data collection; travel diary collection system evaluation and comparison; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : The increase in population, accompanied by an increase in the availability of travel opportunities have kindled the interest in understanding how people make use of the space around them and their opportunities. Understanding the travel behaviour of individuals and groups is difficult because of two main factors: the travel behaviour's wide coverage, which encompasses different research areas, all of which model different aspects of travel behaviour, and the difficulty of obtaining travel diaries from large groups of respondents, which is imperative for analysing travel behaviour and patterns. 2. 2. Communication technology and travel demand models

    Författare :Maria Börjesson; Infrastruktur KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Travel survey; Transport mode; Telecommuting; Mathematical model; Motivation; 11 Road: Personal transport; 11 Road: Personal transport;

    Sammanfattning : Transportation planners have traditionally focused on physical travel only, and disregarded the fact that other modes of communication may influence travel demand. However, modern telecommunications are rapidly increasing the accessibility to activities that previously only could be reached by physical transportation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Understanding the Impacts of Weather and Climate Change on Travel Behaviour

    Författare :Liu Chengxi; Yusak O. Susilo; Karlström Anders; Kelly J. Clifton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; impacts of weather; climate change; travel survey; spatial heterogeneity; activity-travel pattern; weather perception; passenger transport CO2 emission; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Human behaviour produces massive greenhouse gas emissions, which trigger climate change and more unpredictable weather conditions. The fluctuation of daily weather corresponds to variations of everyday travel behaviour. This influence, although is less noticeable, can have a strong impact on the transport system. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Passengers’ choices in multimodal public transport systems : A study of revealed behaviour and measurement methods

    Författare :Ulrik Berggren; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Public transport; Travel behaviour; Revealed preferences; Travel survey;

    Sammanfattning : The concept of individual choice is a fundamental aspect when explaining and anticipating behavioural interactions with, and responses to, static and dynamic travel conditions in public transport (PT) systems. However, the empirical rounding of existing models used for forecasting travel demand, which itself is a result of a multitude of individual choices, is often insufficient in terms of detail and accuracy. 5. 5. MEILI : Multiple Day Travel Behaviour Data Collection, Automation and Analysis

    Författare :Adrian Corneliu Prelipcean; Yusak Octavius Susilo; Gyözö Gidofalvi; Zachary Pattersson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multiple day travel diary collection; trajectory segmentation; travel mode destination and purpose inference; travel diary collection system comparison; travel pattern stability and variability over time; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science; Computer Science; Datalogi; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Researchers' pursuit for the better understanding of the dynamics of travel and travel behaviour led to a constant advance in data collection methods. One such data collection method, the travel diary, is a common proxy for travel behaviour and its use has a long history in the transportation research community. LÄS MER
