  1. 1. Understanding the Impacts of Weather and Climate Change on Travel Behaviour

    Författare :Liu Chengxi; Yusak O. Susilo; Karlström Anders; Kelly J. Clifton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; impacts of weather; climate change; travel survey; spatial heterogeneity; activity-travel pattern; weather perception; passenger transport CO2 emission; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Human behaviour produces massive greenhouse gas emissions, which trigger climate change and more unpredictable weather conditions. The fluctuation of daily weather corresponds to variations of everyday travel behaviour. This influence, although is less noticeable, can have a strong impact on the transport system. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evaluation and Modelling of Short Haul Intermodal Transport Systems

    Författare :Behzad Kordnejad; Sebastian Stichel; Bo-Lennart Nelldal; Sebastiaan Meijer; Johan Woxenius; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Conventional intermodal rail freight transport systems have proved themselves competitive and able to offer cost-leadership on long distances and in endpoint relations between two nodes. Several studies within intermodal transports have made contributions in finding the minimum distance, the “break-even” distance that an intermodal door-to-door shipment can compete with unimodal road. 3. 3. Enabling socio-technical transitions – electric vehicles and high voltage electricity grids as focal points of low emission futures

    Författare :Martin Albrecht; Åsa Svenfelt; Göran Finnveden; Jonas Åkerman; Anna Kramers; Måns Nilsson; Anna Bergek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Socio-technical system; innovation system; transition; MLP; TIS; low emission future; electric vehicles; high voltage transmission grid; Sweden; Norway; Denmark; Finland; United Kingdom; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Today humankind is facing numerous sustainability challenges that require us to question CO2 intensive practices like those present in the transport and energy sector. To meet those challenges, many countries have adopted ambitious climate targets. Achieving such targets requires an understanding of the wider socio-technical context of transitions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Life cycle assessment of transport systems and transport infrastructure : Investigating methodological approaches and quantifying impacts at project and network levels

    Författare :Carolina Liljenström; Anna Björklund; Susanna Toller; Rolf André Bohne; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Strategier för hållbar utveckling; Strategies for sustainable development;

    Sammanfattning : Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector is a key challenge to reach global climate targets and limit global warming to below 2 ºC. The use of life cycle assessment (LCA) may provide knowledge about the environmental impacts of transport systems so that emission reduction measures can be identified. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The impact of an Electrification of Road Transportation on the Electricity system in Scandinavia

    Författare :Maria Taljegård; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electric road systems; energy consumption; peak power; electric car; variation management; energy system modelling;

    Sammanfattning : The transport sector needs to reduce CO2 emissions by replacing fossil fuels with low-carbon options. An electrification of the road transport sector through electric vehicles (EVs) with static charging; electric road systems (ERS); and using electricity to produce a fuel, are all suggested as possible options.
