  1. 11. Predictive model of perceived driving stability at high speeds under aerodynamic excitations

    Författare :Arun Kumar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; driver-vehicle interaction; unsteady aerodynamics; Driving simulator; on-road tests; predictive model; vehicle stability; subjective evaluation;

    Sammanfattning : The automotive industry is continuously advancing towards more energy-efficient vehicle designs.  Streamlined vehicles have low aerodynamic drag but have the potential to be unstable when  exposed to external excitations such as unsteady aerodynamic forces created by the flow of air  around them. 2. 12. Understanding Individuals' Learning and Decision Processes in a Changing Environment by Using Panel Data

    Författare :Nursitihazlin Ahmad Termida; Yusak Susilo; Joel Franklin; Kiron Chatterjee; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Behavioural responses; seasons; panel data; travel diary; activity-travel pattern; theory of planned behaviour; space-time constraint; changing environment; tram; Stockholm; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : When a new transport service is introduced, people have to learn and familiarize themselves with the new service before they decide to adopt it. These processes are developed over time, thus produce dynamics in individuals’ behavioural responses towards the service. This affects the demand of the new service, thus affect revenues. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Laparoscopic or Open Antireflux Surgery - A Comparative Study with Special Reference to the Patient´s Perspective

    Författare :Gunilla Nilsson; Folke Johnsson; Bengt Hallerbäck; Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Antireflux surgery; fundoplication; RCT; laparoscopy versus open surgery; subjective outcomes; objective outcomes; narratives; short-term follow-up; long-term follow-up; Surgery; Kirurgi; Health Informatics; Hälsoinformatik; Omvårdnad; Nursing; Gastro-enterology; Gastroenterologi; traumatology; orthopaedics; Surgery; long-term follow-up; short-term follow-up; narratives; objective outcomes; subjective outcomes; laparoscopy versus open surgery; RCT; Antireflux surgery; fundoplication; Kirurgi; traumatologi; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to compare the effects of laparoscopic versus open antireflux surgery in a randomized clinical trial focusing the patients' subjective and objective outcome postoperatively, from a short-term and a long-term perspective. A further aim was to describe GORD patients' experiences of illness and surgical treatment and if possible to find striking characteristics relating to laparoscopic or open surgery. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Effects of FODMAPs and gluten on irritable bowel syndrome- from self-reported symptoms to molecular profiling

    Författare :Elise Nordin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; short-chain fatty acids; metabotyping; Bristol Stool Form Scale; randomized clinical trial; double-blind; irritable bowel syndrome; FODMAPs; microbiota; personalized nutrition; fecal consistency; differential responses; metabolomics; stool water content; gluten;

    Sammanfattning : Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a complex disorder of gut-brain interactions. The diagnosis of IBS is based on subjective reporting of abdominal pain and altered bowel habits in the absence of any clinical alterations of the gut or other pathological conditions. LÄS MER

  5. 15. The Measurement of Subjective Well-Being: Item Response Theory, Classical Test Theory, and Multidimensional Item Response Theory

    Författare :Ali Al Nima; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Life Satisfaction; Negative Affect; Positive Affect; Harmoni in Life Subjective Well-Being; Item Response Theory; Classical Test Theory; Multidimensional Item Response Theory.;

    Sammanfattning : For over 35 years, modern science has conceptualized happiness as subjective well-being, which has until recently been understood as a dual construct consisting of an affective component (positive and negative affect) and a cognitive component (life satisfaction). Nevertheless, for the last five years, theoretical work and both quantitative and qualitative empirical work have suggested that the concept of subjective well-being omits both a lay and an Eastern way of understanding happiness.
