  1. 1. The Impact of Dissolved Matter on Fiberline Processes

    Författare :Caroline Wilke; Ulf Germgård; Niclas Andersson; Juha Fiskari; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bleach plant control; Carbonate; Carryover; Chlorine dioxide bleaching; COD; Dissolved lignin; Dissolved matter; Fiberline control; Filtrate; Hexenuronic acid; Hydrogen peroxide bleaching; Kappa number; Oxygen delignification; Wash loss; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The impact of dissolved matter on the performance of four fiberline process stages was investigated: oxygen delignification, hot acid treatment, chlorine dioxide bleaching, and hydrogen peroxide reinforced alkaline extraction. In particular the impact on delignification due to dissolved lignin was studied. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; inclusions; thermodynamics; ladle treatment; vacuum; tool steel; bearing steel; slag; equilibrium; slag carryover; oxides; sulfides.; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Today, there is a high demand on clean steel for high performance materialproperties. Thus, steel producers try to deliver a steel product with the highestquality and cleanliness to the market. The number of parameters that affect thesteel cleanliness may vary depending on the required material properties of thefinal product. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Miniaturized, Membrane-Based and Environmentally Green Sample Preparation Systems: Applications for Biological and Environmental Aqueous Samples

    Författare :Thaer Barri; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Free concentration; Exhustive extraction; Microporous membrane liquid-liqid extraction; Miniaturization; Supported liquid membrane extraction; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : Contemporary advancements in miniaturization of analytical systems have advantageously fostered development, automation, and hyphenation of a variety of sample preparation techniques. Among several downscaled extraction designs, porous synthetic polymeric membranes (such as flat sheet (FS) or hollow fiber (HF)) have been utilized for membrane-based extraction, separating two aqueous phases (as in supported liquid membrane (SLM) extraction or one aqueous phase and another organic phase (as in microporous membrane liquid-liquid extraction (MMLLE)). 4. 4. The Release, Distribution, and Implications of Alkalis in Chemical Looping Combustion of Biomass

    Författare :Ivan Gogolev; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; chemical looping combustion; carbon capture; alkali release; biomass;

    Sammanfattning : Chemical looping combustion (CLC) of biomass is a promising technology for power generation with a potential net negative CO2 footprint. Like other fluidized bed biomass conversion technologies, biomass CLC may be susceptible to alkali-induced  agglomeration, fouling, and corrosion. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Determining the Fate and Operational Implications of Alkalis in Chemical Looping Combustion of Biomass

    Författare :Ivan Gogolev; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biomass; alkali release; chemical looping combustion; carbon capture;

    Sammanfattning : Chemical looping combustion (CLC) of biomass is a promising thermal conversion technology with integrated carbon capture. As with other fluidized bed fuel conversion processes, biomass CLC may be susceptible to issues of agglomeration, fouling and corrosion stemming from the release of alkalis during fuel conversion.
