1. Strategies for de novo DNA sequencing
Sammanfattning : The development of improved sequencing technologies hasenabled the field of genomics to evolve. Handling andsequencing of large numbers of samples require an increasedlevel of automation in order to obtain high throughput andconsistent quality. LÄS MER
2. QCM-D based biosensing – exploring the possibilities
Sammanfattning : We are constantly increasing our understanding of all biological systems and how these highly complex systems interact with each other. The high degree of complexity of these systems can be investigated in greater and greater detail by increasingly sophisticated sensing techniques. LÄS MER
3. Chromatographic Studies of Solute Interactions with Immobilized Red Blood Cells and Biomembranes
Sammanfattning : Specific and non-specific interactions of solutes with immobilized biomembranes were studied using chromatographic methods. Liposomes, proteoliposomes and red blood cell (RBC) membrane vesicles were immobilized by a freeze-thawing procedure, whereas whole RBCs were adsorbed in the gel beds using electrostatic interaction, binding to wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) or the streptavidin-biotin interaction. 4. QCM-D with focus on variations in oscillation amplitude
Sammanfattning : The QCM-D (quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring) technique is an increasingly popular tool in studies of molecular interactions at interfaces, e.g. binding/unbinding reactions at surfaces, studies of thin film properties, and conformational changes. LÄS MER
5. Affinity-, Partition- and Permeability Properties of the Human Red Blood Cell Membrane and Biomembrane Models, with Emphasis on the GLUT1 Glucose Transporter
Sammanfattning : The human glucose transporter GLUT1 is abundant in red blood cells, the blood-brain barrier and epithelial cells, where it mediates the transport of the energy metabolite, glucose. In the present work some properties of GLUT1, including affinity binding of both substrates and inhibitors, transport rates as well as permeabilities of aromatic amino acids and drug-membrane interactions were analyzed by chromatographic methods.
