  1. 21. Self assembly of surfactants and polyelectrolytes in solution and at interfaces

    Författare :Luis Alejandro Bastardo Zambrano; Per Claesson; Jan Skov Pedersen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surfactant; polyelectrolyte; small–angle neutron scattering; static light scattering; dynamic light scattering; polyelectrolyte–surfactant association; protein; Surface and colloid chemistry; Yt- och kolloidkemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the study of the interactions between polyelectrolytes and surfactants in aqueous solutions and at interfaces, as well as on the structural changes these molecules undergo due to that interaction. Small–angle neutron scattering, dynamic, and static light scattering were the main techniques used to investigate the interactions in bulk. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Integrating Ergonomics in Maintainability Design Process

    Författare :Kiumars Teymourian; Diego Galar; Dammika Senevirante; Phillip Tretten; Anna Syberfeldt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ergonomics; maintainability; safety; risk analysis; low back compression; ALBA; 3 D Static Strength Prediction Program; Operation and Maintenance Engineering; Drift och underhållsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Engineered designed systems or products influence the intended humans through their interactions and interface with the systems. A system or product is an object whereas a human is a living complex system, and most of human characteristics, such as capabilities and limitations, are known. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Thermally Modified Timber : Novel Aspects of Bending Behaviour Towards Grading and Structural Applications

    Författare :Joran van Blokland; Stergios Adamopoulos; Anders Olsson; Jan Oscarsson; Mark Hughes; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; checks; cracks; digital image correlation; four-point static bending; fracture characteristics; grade determining properties; non-destructive testing; Norway spruce; machine learning; outdoor above-ground exposure; timber grading; scanning electron microscopy; scanning of fibre direction; strain distribution; ThermoWood®; weathering; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Thermally modified timber (TMT) has gained market share in Europe as an environmentally friendly and durable building material. Unfortunately, TMT products are currently prohibited for use in structural applications as there is insufficient data to estimate the loss in strength due to thermal modification. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Structural concrete elements subjected to air blast loading

    Författare :Johan Magnusson; Anders Ansell; Bengt Vretblad; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the design of structures to resist the effects of air blast loading or other severe dynamic loads it is vital to have large energy absorbing capabilities, and structural elements with large plastic deformation capacities are therefore desirable. Structures need to be designed for ductile response in order to prevent partial or total collapse due to locally failed elements. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Mechanical properties of flax fibers and their composites

    Författare :Edgars Sparnins; Kristofer Gamstedt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flax fibers; natural fiber composites; mechanical properties; Time dependent behavior; Polymera konstruktionsmaterial; Polymeric Composite Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Flax fibers, along with a number of other natural fibers, are being considered as an environmentally friendlier alternative of synthetic fibers in fiber-reinforced polymer composites. A common feature of natural fibers is a much higher variability of mechanical properties. LÄS MER
