  1. 1. Molecular principles of protein stability and protein-protein interactions

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Christofer Lendel; KTH.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; affibody; binding thermodynamics; induced fit; molten globule; NMR spectroscopy; protein engineering; protein-protein interactions; protein stability; protein structure.; TECHNOLOGY Bioengineering Structural biochemistry; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Bioteknik Strukturbiokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins with highly specific binding properties constitute the basis for many important applications in biotechnology and medicine. Immunoglobulins have so far been the obvious choice but recent advances in protein engineering have provided several novel constructs that indeed challenge antibodies. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Perplexing Protein Puzzles

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Biophysical Chemistry, Lund University

    Författare :Stina Lindman; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; calbindin D9k; split-GFP; protein G B1; pKa-values; protein reconstitution; Electrostatic interactions; protein stability; protein denaturation; heteronuclear NMR; pH titrations;

    Sammanfattning : Protein structure and stability are inherent in the amino acid sequence and governed by non-covalent interactions. The cooperation between forces is, however, perplexing and not well understood. In order to elucidate and predict protein folding and stability, detailed studies of non-covalent interactions are required. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Structure determination and thermodynamic stabilization of an engineered protein-protein complex

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Elisabet Wahlberg; KTH.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; affibody; protein structure; coupled folding; NMR spectroscopy; protein stability; protein-protein interactions; binding thermodynamics; isothermal titration calorimetry; protein engineering; TECHNOLOGY Bioengineering Structural biochemistry; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Bioteknik Strukturbiokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The interaction between two 6 kDa proteins has been investigated. The studied complex of micromolar affinity (Kd) consists of the Z domain derived from staphylococcal protein A and the related protein ZSPA-1, belonging to a group of binding proteins denoted affibody molecules generated via combinatorial engineering of the Z domain. 4. 4. Protein folding without loops and charges

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Stockholm University

    Författare :Martin Kurnik; Stockholms universitet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; protein folding; folding cooperativity; protein aggregation; protein charges; protein engineering; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Going down the folding funnel, proteins may sample a wide variety of conformations, some being outright detrimental to the organism. Yet, the vast majority of polypeptide molecules avoid such pitfalls. Not only do they reach the native minimum of the energy landscape; they do so via blazingly fast, biased, routes. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Peptostreptococcus magnus and group C/G streptococci are Gram-positive cocci that are part of the normal flora and reside in more or less the same locations in the host. Protein G of group C/G streptococci was originally described as binding IgGFc of several species and later shown to also bind human serum albumin and albumins from various animal species. LÄS MER
