  1. 11. Functional understanding of space : Representing spatial knowledge using concepts grounded in an agent's purpose

    Författare :Kristoffer Sjöö; Patric Jensfelt; David Vernon; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; spatial representation; autonomous robots; spatial understanding; semantic mapping; spatial relations; visual search; robot search;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the role of function in representations of space by robots - that is, dealing directly and explicitly with those aspects of space and objects in space that serve some purpose for the robot. It is suggested that taking function into account helps increase the generality and robustness of solutions in an unpredictable and complex world, and the suggestion is affirmed by several instantiations of functionally conceived spatial models. Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the development of three generic pronouns in the history of the Swedish language, from the year of ca. 1225 until today. LÄS MER

  3. 13. On Fundamental Elements of Visual Navigation Systems

    Författare :Abujawad Rafid Siddiqui; J. Rafid Siddiqui; Sweden Karlskrona Blekinge Tekniska Högskola Institutionen för kommunikationssystem; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robot navigation; localization; visual mapping; scene understanding; semantic mapping;

    Sammanfattning : Visual navigation is a ubiquitous yet complex task which is performed by many species for the purpose of survival. Although visual navigation is actively being studied within the robotics community, the determination of elemental constituents of a robust visual navigation system remains a challenge. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Resource efficient automatic segmentation of medical images

    Författare :Minh Hoang Vu; Tommy Löfstedt; Tufve Nyholm; Anders Garpebring; Joakim Jonsson; Örjan Smedby; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; radiotherapy; medical imaging; deep learning; convolutional neural network; generative adversarial network; data augmentation; semantic segmentation; classification; activation map compression; radiofysik; radiation physics;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. In 2020, there were around 10 million cancer deaths and nearly 20 million new cancer cases in the world. Radiation therapy is essential in cancer treatments because half of the cancer patients receive radiation therapy at some point. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Earth Observation (EO) satellites have great potential in wildfire detection and assessment at fine spatial, temporal, and spectral resolutions. For a long time, satellite data have been employed to systematically monitor wildfire dynamics and assess wildfire impacts, including (i) to detect the location of actively burning spots, (ii) to map the spatial extent of the burn scars, (iii) to assess the wildfire damage levels.
