6. Hazards of Drug Therapy : On the Management of Adverse Drug Reactions: From Signal Detection and Evaluation to Risk Minimization
Sammanfattning : Spontaneous reporting systems (SRSs) for adverse drug reactions (ADRs) have been developed as a result of the thalidomide disaster, whereby thousands of children world-wide were born with birth defects. The Swedish Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory Committee was established in 1965. LÄS MER
7. Pre-crash Motion Planning for Autonomous Vehicles in Unavoidable Collision Scenarios
Sammanfattning : Full deployment of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) on public roads is challenging for organizations in the automotive domain in terms of developing safety standards and methods while taking legacy assumptions related to having a human driver and increased complexity and complexity handling into account. Specifically, the safety of AVs in the presence of other road users must be guaranteed as far as possible for different traffic scenarios. LÄS MER
8. Urban women applying for induced abortion. Studies of epidemiology, attitudes and emotional reactions
Sammanfattning : In Sweden between 32-38,000 women annually elect to terminate pregnancy by means of induced abortion, though their reasons are still not well understood. The purpose of these studies, carried out at the Department of Obstetrics and gynecology and of Community Medicine at University Hospital, Malmö, was to elucidate the incidence of induced abortion in an urban population, with special emphasis on epidemiological and socio-demographic factors, the women's attitude to abortion, and the incidence and severity of post-abortion emotional reactions. 9. Genetics of Osteoporosis - Studies on bone size, structure and strength in the rat
Sammanfattning : Osteoporosis is characterized by decreased bone mineral density (BMD) leading to reduced bone strength and increased fracture risk. Several heritable components affect a bone’s ability to resist fracture, including size, structure and strength; therefore identification of the genes underlying several bone characteristics will help elucidate the pathogenesis of fracture risk. 10. Using Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Principles to Evaluate Individualisation of Antibiotic Dosing – Emphasis on Cefuroxime
Sammanfattning : Cefuroxime is a renally eliminated antibiotic used against a variety of different bacterial infections. The pharmacokinetics (PK) for cefuroxime was studied in 97 hospitalized patients using population analysis. To be able to measure cefuroxime in human serum a new sensitive analytical method was developed using mass spectrometry detection. LÄS MER
