  2. 2. Miniprojects and Context Rich Problems : Case studies with qualitative analysis of motivation, learner ownership and competence in small group work in physics

    Författare :Margareta Enghag; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Social sciences; context rich problems; CRP; mini projects; MP; physics in upper secondary school; Students’ ownership of learning; SOL; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis reports case studies of students working with context rich problems (CRP) and mini projects (MP) in physics in an upper secondary school class and in a physics teacher education class at university. The students report a big shift from physics in secondary school as fun and easy, to physics in upper secondary school as boring, difficult and with lack of time for reflections and physics talking, but they also found physics as interesting in itself. 3. 3. A Computational Approach for Modelling Context across Different Application Domains

    Författare :Alisa Lincke; Marc Jansen; Marcelo Milrad; Barbara Wasson; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; context modelling; multidimensional vector space model; contextualisation; recommender systems; rich context model; Media Technology; Medieteknik; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Nowadays, people use a wide range of devices (e.g., mobile phones, smart watches, tablets, activity bands, laptops) to access different digital applications and services. The ubiquitous distribution of these devices allows them to be used across different settings, in different situations, and in a large number of different domains. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Exploring the multiple dimensions of context: Implications for the design and development of innovative technology-enhanced learning environments

    Författare :Arianit Kurti; Marcelo Milrad; Per Flensburg; Mikael Wiberg; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; technology-enhanced learning; context; context model; contextual metadata; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Media Technology; Media Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Technology evolution throughout history has initiated many changes in different aspects of human activities. Learning, as one of the most representative human activities has also been subject to these changes. Nowadays, the use of information and communication technologies has considerably changed the way people learn and collaborate. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Edge states and transition to turbulence in boundary layers

    Författare :Taras Khapko; Dan Henningson; Philipp Schlatter; Yohann Duguet; Rich Kerswell; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; boundary layer; transition to turbulence; direct numerical simulation; edge state; free-stream turbulence; bypass transition; probabilistic cellular automaton; turbulence at the onset; laminar–turbulent coexistence; laminarisation; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is the numerical study of subcritical transition to turbulence in boundary-layer flows. For the most part, boundary layers with uniform suction are considered. Constant homogeneous suction counteracts the spatial growth of the boundary layer, rendering the flow parallel. LÄS MER
