  1. 1. Inner ear proteomics and barriers : Clinical and experimental findings

    Författare :Jesper Edvardsson Rasmussen; Göran Laurell; Per Olof Eriksson; Helge Rask-Andersen; Jonas Bergquist; Måns Magnusson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Vestibular schwannoma; Hearing loss; Inner ear; Proteome; Perilymph; Endolymph; Furosemide; NKCC1; Fetuin-A; Complement component factor-H realted protein 2; CFHR2; Inflammation; MRI; Oto-Rhino-Laryngology; Oto-rhino-laryngologi; Medical Cell Biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Hearing is important in many aspects of life, including communication, assessing one’s surroundings, entertainment and social interaction. Hearing loss is common and according to the Global Burden of Disease Study, 5% of the global population require hearing rehabilitation (1). LÄS MER

  2. 2. MRI assessment of haemophilic arthropathy

    Författare :Björn Lundin; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; medical instrumentation; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Arthropathy; Factor VIII; Factor IX; MRI; Haemophilia; Klinisk fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Haemophilia is a recessive genetic bleeding disorder in which coagulation time is prolonged due to the absence or malfunction of either of the serum proteins Factor VIII or IX. Joint destruction following repeated haemarthroses is the main cause of morbidity in haemophiliacs, and such arthropathy can be prevented or postponed by implementing prophylactic therapy with factor concentrate at an early age. 3. 3. MRI Diagnosis of Intracranial Hemorrhage : Experimental and Clinical Studies

    Författare :Montserrat Alemany Ripoll; Kaj Ericsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; hemorrhage; experimental; MRI; T2*-w GE sequence; old microhemorrhages; stroke; Radiologisk forskning; Radiological research; Radiologisk forskning; radiologi; Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this work was to improve the diagnosis of intracranial hemorrhage with MRI, using, among others, T2*-w GE sequences. Various sequences were tested in rabbits at two magnetic field strengths. Then, the most effective technique was applied to stroke patients. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Atypical anorexia nervosa (AAN) has a high incidence in adolescents, resulting in significant morbidity and mortality. The weight loss is generally less pronounced than that experienced in full-syndrome anorexia nervosa (AN), but the medical consequences can be as severe. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of MRI as a diagnostic method in biliary tract conditions

    Författare :Katarina Håkansson; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
