1. Mass Loss of Evolved Stars : Improving Mass-Loss Rates and Distances
Sammanfattning : In the final stages of their lives, low to intermediate-mass stars enter the Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) phase, where they experience significant mass loss through dusty stellar winds. This mass loss is pivotal, not only for the chemical enrichment of the interstellar medium, setting the stage for new stars and planets to form, but also in dictating the evolution and the ultimate fate of the stars themselves. 2. Radio : Vardagsliv tillsammans med ett massmedium
Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the radio medium as a phenomenon of experience. The perspective relates to phenomenological philosophy, dealing with human knowledge as an ongoing intentional relationship with the world: to experience is to grasp things such as they appear to the subjective consciousness. 3. Ett massmedium för folket : studier i de allmänna kungörelsernas funktion i 1700-talets samhälle
Sammanfattning : As from 1686 it was decreed by law that all government regulations, orders, edicts and other information any government official wanted to make public, had to be read out to the people by the clergy from the pulpits of all churches in Sweden and Finland at the end of the sermon. The system of communication remained in full force until the end of the 19th century and was not finally abandoned until 1942. LÄS MER
4. Mass Transport in Apple Tissue: Effects of Tissue Structure and Osmotic Processing Conditions
Sammanfattning : Osmotic processing can be a very useful processing step in today’s food industry enabling the production of high quality natural food ingredients out of plant tissues. The maintenance of high product quality is quite product specific with regard to quality attributes. These attributes include fresh/like appearance, taste, texture and composition. LÄS MER
5. Accelerator Mass Spectrometry of 36Cl and 129I : Analytical Aspects and Applications
Sammanfattning : Two long-lived halogen radionuclides (36Cl, T1/2 = 301 kyr, and 129I, T1/2 = 15.7 Myr) have been studied by means of Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) at the Uppsala Tandem Laboratory. The 36Cl measurements in natural samples using a medium-sized tandem accelerator (~1 MeV/amu) have been considered. LÄS MER
