    Sammanfattning : This inquiry seeks an answer to the question whether classical theistic doctrines about the nature of God are amenable to formal analysis in terms of standard first-order logic. It is argued that due to the conceptual impact of classical theism’s doctrine of divine simplicity there is a good reason for answering this question in the negative. LÄS MER

Specific aims were to examine whether the Swedish version of the PGCMAI meets the criteria of reliability and validity when assessing the life situation of Swedish old people with locomotor disability and to explore the pattern of the Swedish version of the instrument in respect of age and gender.     Sammanfattning : This thesis has two aims: first, to investigate Max Weber’s account of “objective validity” in the cultural sciences; second, to elaborate a more concrete version of this position using Ludwig Wittgenstein’s later remarks on language.Chapter 1 introduces Weber’s idea of objective validity and proposes that in order to understand Weber’s idea of ideal types, we need to re-evaluate Weber’s understanding of the term Bedeutung in “The ‘Objectivity’ of knowledge in Social Science and Social Policy”.     Sammanfattning : We consider a logic which "truth-values" are represented as quantified belief/disbelief pairs, thus integrating reports on how strongly the truth of a proposition is believed, and how strongly it is disbelieved. In this context a major motive for the logic proposed is, that it should not lead (as in classical logic) to irrelevant conclusions when contradictory beliefs are encountered. LÄS MER
