    Sammanfattning : For how many years was a farmer responsible for running a farm in Sweden’s old peasant society’? This is the question that underpins my research into life in Ramkvilla parish in the province of Småland for two hundred years (1623–1819). By conducting a detailed study of farm practice at the individual level, I have been able to analyse a complex theme that touches upon the issues of responsibility for work and taxes, relationships between the generations and sexes, and the crises of agrarian society.     Sammanfattning : Sustainability control is grounded in pragmatic research traditions which imply that the design of formalised sustainability control systems (de-signed by managers) is enough to ensure strategic plans are met in re-sponse to external accountability demands. Through this, the individualis-ing aspects of control in a hierarchical accountability sense are empha-sised, and the main accountability relationship becomes between the supe-rior and subordinate.     Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, teenagers (13-19 years) are allowed to speak out. The purpose of the study was to gain knowledge regarding the conditions related to socialization in the proximity of violence through listening to, interpreting and attempting to understand the teenagers' narratives about life when violence is an everyday occurrence.
