Sammanfattning : During the 18th and 19th centuries, vibrato as well as the articulation of fast passages was often not indicated in the musical scores, but was left to the players discretion within prevailing practice. A finger-vibrato technique that this study names the flattement technique was the most recommended vibrato technique in Western classical music throughout the 18th century. LÄS MER

This thesis is an ethnographic study with an hermeneutic approach of a symphony orchestra, five conductors and the management of a concert hall, trying to answer that question. The main focus of the study is to describe what goes on between individuals or groups of individuals, that is, the relations between the orchestra members, between orchestra members and conductors and between orchestra members and management.
