1. Determination of the thermal conductivity of the insulation in district heating mains : Field measurements
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the development of a measurement method for determination in the field of the thermal conductivity of the insulation in buried district heating mains. The thermal conductivity of the insulation is calculated from the measured value of the radial heat flow through the heating main, the measured temperature difference across the insulation, and the dimensions of the heating main. 2. Bioelectronic Nanosensor Devices for Environmental and Biomedical Analysis
Sammanfattning : A new type of Bioelectronic Nanosensor Device with potential applications in medicine, biotechnology and environmental analysis was designed. The nanosensor is based on RISFET (Regional Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor) technology. LÄS MER
3. Silicon Nanowire Field-Effect Devices as Low-Noise Sensors
Sammanfattning : In the past decades, silicon nanowire field-effect transistors (SiNWFETs) have been explored for label-free, highly sensitive, and real-time detections of chemical and biological species. The SiNWFETs are anticipated for sensing analyte at ultralow concentrations, even at single-molecule level, owing to their significantly improved charge sensitivity over large-area FETs. LÄS MER
4. Electronic Sensors Based on Nanostructured Field-Effect Devices
Sammanfattning : Point-of-care (POC) diagnostics presents a giant market opportunity with profound societal impact. In particular, specific detection of DNA and protein markers can be essential for early diagnosis of e.g. cancer, cardiovascular disease, infections or allergies. LÄS MER
5. SiC based field effect sensors and sensor systems for combustion control applications
Sammanfattning : Increasing oil prices and concerns about global warming have reinforced the interest in biofuels for domestic and district heating, most commonly through combustion of solid biomass like wood logs, hog fuel and pellets. Combustion at non-optimal conditions can, however, lead to substantial emissions of noxious compounds like unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides as well as the generation of soot.
