1. Electronic Sensors Based on Nanostructured Field-Effect Devices
Sammanfattning : Point-of-care (POC) diagnostics presents a giant market opportunity with profound societal impact. In particular, specific detection of DNA and protein markers can be essential for early diagnosis of e.g. cancer, cardiovascular disease, infections or allergies. LÄS MER
2. Polarization characteristics in polyelectrolyte thin film capacitors : Targeting field-effect transistors and sensors
Sammanfattning : Polymers are very attractive materials that can be tailored for specific needs and functionality. They can for instance be made electrically insulating or (semi)conducting, with specific mechanical properties. Polymers are often processable from a solution, which enables the use of low-cost manufacturing techniques to fabricate polymer devices. LÄS MER
3. Silicon Nanowire Field-Effect Devices as Low-Noise Sensors
Sammanfattning : In the past decades, silicon nanowire field-effect transistors (SiNWFETs) have been explored for label-free, highly sensitive, and real-time detections of chemical and biological species. The SiNWFETs are anticipated for sensing analyte at ultralow concentrations, even at single-molecule level, owing to their significantly improved charge sensitivity over large-area FETs. LÄS MER
4. Silicon carbide field-effect devices studied as gas sensors for exhaust gas monitoring
Sammanfattning : Metal-insulator-silicon carbide (MIS) structures have been studied as gas sensors. We have investigated how the sensors detect gases, how fast they do that, and how they could be used for exhaust gas monitoring. We have prepared simple field-effect devices, MIS-capacitors and Schottky diodes, on silicon carbide with platinum gates. 5. SiC based field effect sensors and sensor systems for combustion control applications
Sammanfattning : Increasing oil prices and concerns about global warming have reinforced the interest in biofuels for domestic and district heating, most commonly through combustion of solid biomass like wood logs, hog fuel and pellets. Combustion at non-optimal conditions can, however, lead to substantial emissions of noxious compounds like unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides as well as the generation of soot.
