  1. 21. Localization of lipoprotein lipase in mouse pancreas, kidney and placenta : impact of metabolic disturbances on cellular distribution and activity regulation

    Författare :Rakel Nyrén; Gunilla Olivecrona; Paolo Parini; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Lipoprotein lipase; pancreas; kidney; placenta; angiopoietin-like protein 4; high-fat diet; obesity; mice; PET CT; nutritional status; triglyceride; GPIHBP1; medicinsk och fysiologisk kemi; Medical and Physiological Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is the key enzyme for metabolism of triglycerides in plasma lipoproteins. In recent years many new facts about the enzyme and its regulation have been uncovered. The endothelial membrane protein GPIHBP1 translocates LPL through endothelial cells and holds the enzyme in place at the luminal side of the capillary endothelium. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Women with Primary Sjögren´s Syndrome Assessment and Treatment A Physiotherapeutic Perspective

    Författare :Britta Strömbeck; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; reliability; validity; exercise; physiotherapy; Skeleton; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ; rehabilitation; revalidation; Physical medicine; kinesitherapy; ProF; fatigue; physical capacity; health-related quality of life; pain; Sjögren´s syndrome;

    Sammanfattning : Primary Sjögren´s syndrome (primary SS) is a systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltrations in the exocrine glands leading to classic dryness complaints such as dry eyes and dry mouth. Non-exocrine complaints also occur, e.g. fatigue, myalgia and arthralgia, as well as disturbed mood. LÄS MER

  3. 23. CFTR in pancreatic islets

    Författare :Anna Edlund; Diabetes - öcellsexocytos; []
    Nyckelord :CFTR; CF; CFRD; Cystic fibrosis; Cystisk fibros; Diabetes; Insulin; Beta cell; Glukagon; Glucagon; Alpha cell; Alfa-cell; Anoctamin; ANO1; ANO;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractCystic fibrosis (CF) is caused by mutations in the anion channel and protein regulator CFTR. The most common co-morbidity in CF is CF-related diabetes (CFRD) affecting ~50% of adult patients. The etiopathology of CFRD is largely unknown but the destruction of the exocrine pancreas is thought to contribute. LÄS MER

  4. 24. The role of Ro52 autoantibodies in congenital heart block

    Författare :Stina Salomonsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Autoantibodies; Ro52; congenital heart block CHB ; Sjögren s syndrome SS ; autoimmunity; inflammation; autoantigen; germinal center GC ;

    Sammanfattning : The presence of B cells producing autoantibodies is a common feature of many autoimmune conditions. The pathogenic role of the autoantibodies is often unclear, but they often serve as diagnostic markers and may be used as prognostic tools in some diseases. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Cellular and molecular factors in the pathogenesis of systemic autoimmunity and comorbidities

    Författare :Margarita Ivanchenko; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are systemic rheumatic autoimmune diseases having a major impact on patient’s wellbeing. Besides fatigue, pain and direct damage to exocrine glands in SS, and various target organs, such as skin, joints, kidneys and brain in SLE, these diseases confer an increased risk of lymphoma development and can cause an autoimmune condition in the foetus of pregnant patients, termed neonatal lupus.
