1. CFTR in pancreatic islets
Sammanfattning : AbstractCystic fibrosis (CF) is caused by mutations in the anion channel and protein regulator CFTR. The most common co-morbidity in CF is CF-related diabetes (CFRD) affecting ~50% of adult patients. The etiopathology of CFRD is largely unknown but the destruction of the exocrine pancreas is thought to contribute. LÄS MER
2. Anal fistulae - Three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound and outcomes of collagen plug treatment
Sammanfattning : Background: The treatment of complex anal fistulae remains a therapeutic challenge. Early anal fistula plug (AFP) studies showed high success rates, while later reports demonstrated success rate of 13-100% at usual follow-up of 6-24 months. LÄS MER
3. Processing and On-Wafer Test of Ferroelectric Film Microwave Varactors
Sammanfattning : Microwave materials have been widely used in a variety of applications ranging from communication devices to military satellite services, and the study of materials properties at microwave frequencies and the development of functional microwave materials have always been among the most active areas in solid-state physics, materials science, electrical and electronic engineering. In recent years, the increasing requirements for the development of high speed, high frequency circuits and systems require complete understanding of the properties of materials function at microwave frequencies. 4. Prolonged Modulation of the Micturition Reflex by Electrical Stimulation
Sammanfattning : Intravesical electrical stimulation (IVES) has been used in treatment of patients with urinary bladder dysfunctions for more than four decades. While some investigators have reported excellent results others have observed less convincing effects or outright failures. LÄS MER
5. (Dis)engaging in moving-body practices : physical activity correlates among university students in Mexico
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to gather in-depth data to provide insights into individual, social and environmental correlates of physical activity in order to identify priority elements to design feasible and effective intervention strategies to promote regular physical activity engagement among university students in a middle-income country such as Mexico. The situation of university students (dis)engaging in moving-body practices was explored through the use of a survey based on the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire and the construction of Moving-body diaries that included visual and verbal narratives.
