1. Electronic materials : growth and characterisation
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the InSb(111), InAs(111) and GaSb(001) surfaces have been studied by means of time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy based upon the femtosecond laser system. The pump-and-probe technique allows to analyse both electron states in the valence band and normally unpopulated electron states above the valence band, which can be occupied by transiently excited carriers at the optically pumped surface. 2.
3. Electronic Tounges : New Sensor Technology in Household Appliances
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with a method to optimise the water, energy, and detergent consumption in a dishwasher and washing machine. A new sensor system, the voltammetric electronic tongue has been the key factor in the research. LÄS MER
4. Electronic Labyrinths : An Archaeology of Videographic Cinema
Sammanfattning : This study scans six decades of film history in search for video images, the imaginaries within which they are framed, and (taking cues from the archaeological methods of Friedrich Kittler and Michel Foucault) their technical, historical, and institutional conditions of existence. The British experimental science fiction film Anti-Clock (Jane Arden and Jack Bond, 1979) revolves around a video device with the capacity to confront subjects with their own repressed memory images. 5. Electronic Potlatch : A study concerning new technologies and primitive economic behaviors
Sammanfattning : Economy - the very idea. In an age where the market economy seems to have achieved a total and omnipresent hegemony, there would seem to be little to discuss anymore. Going against this, the book argues for a sensitivity to other forms of economies, and the hybrids existing in our postindustrial society. LÄS MER
