11. Electron tomography and optical modelling for organic solar cells
Sammanfattning : Organic solar cells using carbon based materials have the potential to deliver cheap solar electricity. The aim is to be able to produce solar cells with common printing techniques on flexible substrates, and as organic materials can be made soluble in various solvents, they are well adapted to such techniques. 12. InP High Electron Mobility Transistors for Cryogenic Low-Noise and Low-Power Amplifiers
Sammanfattning : The InAlAs/InGaAs/InP high-electron mobility transistor (InP HEMT) is the preferred low-noise device in cryogenic low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) operating at 5-15 K. Such LNAs are utilized in microwave and millimeter-wave detection in radio astronomy. LÄS MER
13. Synthesis and Characterisation of Conjugated Polymers with High Electron Affinity
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes synthesis and characterisation of conjugated polymers with high electron affinities. Polymers of this type are desired, for example, for use in light-emitting devices or as electron accepting material in photodiodes/solar cells. LÄS MER
14. InGaAs Nanowire and Quantum Well Devices
Sammanfattning : To fulfill the increasing demand for high-speed electronics used for computation or communication is one everlasting challenge for the semiconductor industry. Emerging fields such as quantum computation also has a need for circuits operating at cryogenic temperatures. LÄS MER
15. MOCVD growth of GaN-based high electron mobility transistor structures
Sammanfattning : The present work was to improve the overall quality of GaN-based high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) epitaxial structures grown on semi-insulating (SI) SiC and native GaN substrates, using an approach called bottom-to-top optimization. The bottom-to-top optimization means an entire growth process optimization, from in-situ substrate pretreatment to the epitaxial growth and then the cooling process. LÄS MER
