  1. 11. Pharmacological and genetic manipulation of adipose cell differentiation and metabolism

    Författare :Milica Vranic; Maria J. Pereira; Jan Eriksson; Niklas Mejhert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adipose tissue; adipocyte; type 2 diabetes; CRISP Cas9; FKBP51; CDKN2C; second-generation antipsychotics; glucocorticoids; dopamine; dopamine receptor;

    Sammanfattning : Adipose tissue dysfunction has a pivotal role in the development of obesity and related metabolic complications, such as insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. The overall aim was to study the consequences of adipose exposure to pharmacological agents, as well as dysregulations in the expression of genes, potentially involved in adipose tissue dysfunction and related metabolic impairments. 2. 12. Dopamine D2 receptor G protein coupling and it's regulation

    Författare :Anton Terasmaa; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Dopamine; D2 receptor; G protein; supersensitivity; 6-hydroxydopamine; [3 S]GTP-gamma-S; radioligand binding;

    Sammanfattning : Dopamine (DA) receptors belong to the superfamily of G protein coupled receptors. The D2 DA receptor is negatively coupled with adenylate cyclase via pertussis toxin sensitive (Gi/o) G proteins. LÄS MER

  3. 13. The Role of Dopamine-Metabolising Enzymes in Renal Sodium Handling. An Experimental Study in vivo

    Författare :Cecilia Odlind; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiology and anatomy; dopamine; kidney; sodium; MAO; COMT; rat; mice; RBF; oxygen; renal; L-dopa; DOPAC; entacapone; phenelzine; dopamine receptors; Fysiologi och anatomi; Physiology and pharmacology; Fysiologi och farmakologi; Physiology; fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Dopamine (DA) has been shown to act as an intrarenal natriuretic hormone and defects in the renal DA system have been associated with some forms of hypertension. How the DA activity is upregulated durin- increased sodium intake is, however, unknown. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Up-regulation of dopamine D₂ receptors : in vitro and in vivo studies

    Författare :Maria Wanderoy; Eliassitet Eriksson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurochemistry; Neurokemi; neurokemi och neurotoxikologi; Neurochemistry and Neurotoxicology;

    Sammanfattning : In the central nervous system (CNS) dopaminergic and dopaminoceptive neurons have the ability to respond to variations in dopamine levels by for example adjusting their dopamine receptor levels. One of the most well known phenomena in this respect is that long-term blockade of D2 receptors with antipsychotic drugs leads to an increase in striatal D2 receptor density of experimental animals as well as of schizophrenic patients as measured in both post-mortem studies and in vivo positron emission tomography studies of brain. 5. 15. Behavioural and biochemical pharmacology of adenosine/dopamine receptor/receptor interaction

    Författare :Roberto Rimondini-Giorgini; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Adenosine; A; receptors; A2A receptors; dopamine; D1 receptors; D2 receptors; mGluR receptors; striatum; immediately early genes; c-fos; junB; NGFI-A; microdialysis; receptor binding; in situ hybridisation;

    Sammanfattning : The neurotransmitter dopamine seems to be involved in neuropsychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease. Direct blockade of dopamine receptors of the D2 subtype has been the hallmark of pharmacotherapy for schizophrenia since early 1950s. LÄS MER
