6. Fluid Dynamics and Granular Growth in High Shear Wet Granulation
Sammanfattning : High shear wet granulation is a key step in the manufacturing of tablets in the pharmaceutical industry. From the pharmaceutical industry’s point of view, there is a desire for predictive quantitative process models to be able to make in-silico process and scale-up simulations, which would shorten and reduce the cost of technology transfer from laboratory scale to manufacturing scale in drug development. 7. Preparation and structural characterisation of Pd/MgO(001) model catalysts
Sammanfattning : Palladium films with nominal thicknesses varying between 0.5 and 40 nm have been grown by electron beam evaporation on polished MgO(OO1) wafers, kept at substrate temperatures, Ts, of 100, 300 and 600 °C. LÄS MER
8. Numerical study of flows related to aerated stirred tanks
Sammanfattning : The overall purpose with this work is to investigate the bubbly flow in a aerated stirred tank using numerical simulations. Aerated stirred tanks are commonly used in chemical processes for producing for example insulin and antibiotics. LÄS MER
9. Effective Charges Near 56Ni and Production of Anti-Nuclei Studied with Heavy-Ion Reactions
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the research performed within two different research groups using heavy-ion induced nuclear reactions. They offer the opportunity to investigate different properties of nuclear matter. The results are based on measurements using a variety of different experimental techniques. LÄS MER
10. Fundamental investigation to improve the quality of cold mix asphalt
Sammanfattning : Cold mix asphalt (CMA) emulsion technology could become an attractive option for the road industry as it offers lower startup and equipment installation costs, energy consumption and environmental impact than traditional alternatives. The adhesion between bitumen and aggregates is influenced by diverse parameters, such as changes in surface free energies of the binder and aggregates or the presence of moisture or dust on the surface of aggregates, mixing temperatures, surface textures (including open porosity), nature of the minerals present and their surface chemical composition, as well as additives in the binder phase.
