    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to assess quality of life in patients with varying degrees of lower limb ischaemia before and after revascularisation, to assess quality of life in relation to the degree of ischaemia and the respondents’ sense of coherence (SOC) and in comparison with a healthy control group, and to compare two different quality of life instruments regarding their usefulness as outcome measures. Patients were assessed using the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) and the SOC scale before and six months after successful revascularisation and compared with 102 healthy controls. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to evaluate those factors, which have predictive value for development of complications after tibial shaft fractures, and to evaluate the outcome of the available treatment methods for closed, as well as open tibial shaft fractures associated with extensive soft-tissue injury. To determine the factors, which influence healing speed, we reviewed 100 consecutive patients with 104 tibial shaft fractures tibial shaft fractures. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Obesity is associated with increased risk of serious medical conditions, impaired quality of life, reduced working capacity, and shortened life expectancy. Obesity surgery is the most effective weight loss treatment with large health benefits, including reduced mortality. However, the long-term effects on productivity loss are not known. LÄS MER
