  1. 1. Satellite cells in human skeletal muscle : molecular identification quantification and function

    Författare :Mona Lindström; Lars-Eric Thornell; Hannu Kalimo; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; satellite cell markers; NCAM; Pax7; MyoD; myogenin; DLK1 FA1; c-Met; human skeletal muscle; immunohistochemistry; muscle growth; muscle hypertrophy; Morphology; cell biology; pathology; Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi; anatomi; Human Anatomy;

    Sammanfattning : Skeletal muscle satellite cells located between the plasma membrane and the basal lamina of muscle fibres, could for many years, only be studied in situ by electron microscopy. The introduction of immunohistochemistry and the discovery of molecular markers of satellite cells then made them accessible for light microscopic studies and a wealth of information is today available. 2. 2. Human papillomavirus tropism : determinants of viral tissue specificity

    Författare :Nitesh Mistry; Magnus Evander; Ola Forslund; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; papillomavirus; receptor; heparan sulfate; pI; lactoferrin; lactoferricin; transcription; long control region; tropism; Virology; Virologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women worldwide and human papillomavirus (HPV) is a prerequisit for the development of this cancer. HPV belongs to the Papillomaviridae family and infects the basal layer of epithelial cells where it generally progresses into warts or condylomas. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Human intestinal alkaline phosphatase : tissue expression and serum levels

    Författare :Ulla Domar; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Human alkaline phosphatase; intestinal alkaline phosphatase; blood; blood group; lipid; monoclonal antibody; immunohistochemistry; liver; kidney; pancreas; liver disease; inflammatory bowel disease;

    Sammanfattning : Human alkaline phosphatase (ALP) comprises four isozymes, viz liver/bone/ kidney or tissue unspecific (AP), intestinal (LAP), placental (PLAP) and germ cell or PLAP-like alkaline phosphatase, with their main expression in specific tissues as indicated by their names. The isozymes are coded by different genes, but they are closely related, with more than 50% amino acid sequence homologies. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Human Endometrial Angiogenesis : An Immunohistochemical Study of the Endometrial Expression of Angiogenic Growth Factors and Their Corresponding Receptors

    Författare :Björn Möller; Matts Olovsson; Bo Lindblom; Kristina Gemzell-Danielsson; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The human endometrium undergoes dramatic changes in morphology and function during the menstrual cycle. Recurrent angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) is of utmost importance for oxygen supply and nourishment of the rapidly growing endometrial tissue. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Proteomics informed investigation of human hepatocytes and liver tissue

    Författare :Niklas Handin; Per Artursson; Peter Nygren; Tobias Sjöblom; Mårten Fryknäs; Pieter Annaert; Uppsala universitet; []
