    Sammanfattning : Background: Acute exposure of the mammalian eye to UVR results in development of photokeratitis after a period of a few hours. Chronic exposure to UVR is associated with an increased risk of several corneal disorders, including pterygium, climatic droplet keratopathy, and climatic proteoglycan stromal keratopathy. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The metabolism of arachidonic acid in the human cornea was investigated and compared with the metabolism in cattle and primates. All three species showed significant arachidonic acid metabolism inthe epithelium, whereas the activity in the stroma and the endothelium was low or undetectable. LÄS MER
