31. Capillary electrophoresis mass spectrometry applied to structural proteomics and small molecule analysis
Sammanfattning : Capillary electrophoresis with mass spectrometric (CE–MS) detection offers a separation method without equal in terms of flexibility, utility, and cost efficiency. Here we demonstrate precisely this through the application of several laboratory-built CE–MS instruments for the separation of brain metabolites in non-primates, enantioselective separations of synthetic anesthetic metabolites in fractionated pony urine, application in structural proteomics workflows, and identification of exogenous alkaloid biotransformationproducts in human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). 32. Mechanisms in Tendon Healing : Pain, Biomarkers and the Role of Mast Cells
Sammanfattning : Tendon injuries and tendinopathy are common disorders, but the underlying mechanisms are not well understood. The overall aim of this thesis was to better understand the mechanisms underlying tendon healing, pain, and inflammation. LÄS MER
33. Meiotic Recombination in Human and Dog : Targets, Consequences and Implications for Genome Evolution
Sammanfattning : Understanding the mechanism of recombination has important implications for genome evolution and genomic variability. The work presented in this thesis studies the properties of recombination by investigating the effects it has on genome evolution in humans and dogs. LÄS MER
34. Insights into Covalent Chemistry for the Development of Biomaterials
Sammanfattning : Covalent cross-linking chemistry is currently exploited in the preparation of biomaterial for biomedical applications. Choice of these chemistries for the preparation of biomaterials and bioconjugates strongly influences the biological output of these materials. LÄS MER
35. Exploring Organic Dyes for Grätzel Cells Using Time-Resolved Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Grätzel cells or Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) are considered one of the most promising methods to convert the sun's energy into electricity due to their low cost and simple technology of production. The Grätzel cell is based on a photosensitizer adsorbed on a low band gap semiconductor. LÄS MER
