  1. 11. The Making of Resistance : Brazil’s Landless Movement and Narrative Enactment

    Författare :Markus Lundström; Paulina de los Reyes; Fredrik Uggla; Stellan Vinthagen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; MST; Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra; peasant; Brazil; social movement; autonomy; constructive resistance; historiography; narrative; collective memory; identity; subject formation; focus group interview; corpus analysis; meta-analysis; ekonomisk historia; Economic History;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores the story of Brazil’s Landless Movement: its historiographical prequel, its narrative components, its modifications, its enactment. The study derives from a non-essentialist understanding of the resistance agent, here construed as political subject – a collective of individuals, contingently unified in a specific political struggle, not necessarily representing a mutual material need, nor a common identity. 2. 12. Mechanical Analysis of Melamine-Formaldehyde Composites

    Författare :Per-Ola Hagstrand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; melamine-formaldehyde; damage; composites; alumina trihydrate; stiffness modelling; cyclic loading; rheokinetics; flax fibres; in-situ SEM;

    Sammanfattning : Planar random fibre composite materials based on melamine-formaldehyde (MF), one of the hardest and stiffest isotropic polymers that is known, have been developed recently on an industrial scale. In this thesis the mechanical behaviour of these materials is systematically investigated for the first time. LÄS MER

  3. 13. On the Development of Mucin-based Biomaterial Coatings

    Författare :Tomas Sandberg; Karin Caldwell; Jan Carlsson; Thomas Arnebrant; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mucin; Biomaterial; Surface-exposed protein; XPS; Neutrophil; Cell morphology; SEM; QCM-D; Viscoelasticity; Protein-stabilization; HNL; Coating; MG1; BSM; PGM; SEC-MALS-RI; Mucin quantification; Protein adsorption; Ellipsometry; Biomaterials; Biomaterial;

    Sammanfattning : Owing to their key role in mucosal functioning as surface barriers with biospecific interaction potentials, the mucins are interesting candidates for use as surface modifiers in biomaterials applications. In this work, “mild” fractionation procedures were used to prepare mucins of bovine (BSM), porcine (PGM), and human (MG1) origin. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Nanoscale Characterisation of Barriers to Electron Conduction in ZnO Varistor Materials

    Författare :Mattias Elfwing; Peter Lagerlöf; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; ZnO varistor material; TEM; SEM; EBIC; ESEM; electron holography; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is concerned with the microstructure of zinc oxide varistor materials used in surge protecting devices. This class of material has been characterised with special emphasis on the functional microstructure and the development of the microstructure during sintering. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys – characterization and mechanisms

    Författare :Mehrdad Shahabi Navid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EDX; CO2; XPS; Mg and MgAl alloys; NaCl; Atmospheric corrosion; Characterization; 3D imaging; SEM; BIB; Thin film; FTIR; XRD; Pitting; Interference microscopy; FIB;

    Sammanfattning : The atmospheric corrosion of Mg and MgAl alloys was investigated. Corrosion tests were performed in the laboratory under controlled environment. CP Mg, AM50 and AZ91 samples were exposed at 95% RH and 22°C in the presence and in the absence of 400 ppm CO2 for 24 h to 672 h. The passive film was characterized by means of XPS, FTIR, AES and XRD. LÄS MER
