  1. 36. Self-Knowledge/Self-Regulation/Self-Control: A Ubiquitous Computing Perspective

    Författare :Lars Hall; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; pervasive computing; affective computing; persuasive computing; Psychology; Psykologi; ubiquitous computing; computer-mediated extrospection; precommitment; distributed motivation; distributed cognition; neurofeedback; biofeedback; metacognition; brain-imaging; learning strategies; emotion regulation; mental strategies; verbal report; implicit learning; consciousness; introspection; self-control; Self-knowledge; self-regulation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is about self-knowledge, self-regulation and self-control. All three of these terms are easily understandable, and apply to situations in our daily lives (like misjudging one’s own competence at retiling the bathroom floor, or feeling the anxiety and thrill of doing unsupervised work, or guiltily hitting the snooze-button for the fifth time, and missing half a day of school). 2. 37. Indirect effects of river regulation : consequences for landbirds of reduced numbers of aquatic insects

    Författare :Darius Strasevicius; Björn Malmqvist; Tapio Eeva; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Boreal region; Simuliidae; Leucocytozoon; pied flycatcher; aquatic insects; breeding success; blood parasites; bird communities; river regulation; impoundment; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Abstrakt: Jag har undersökt hur älvreglering påverkar mängden knott (Tvåvingar: Simuliidae) längs flera norrlandsälvar och vilka konsekvenser denna påverkan får för den landlevande fågelfaunan. Studien visar att utbyggnad av älvar har en negativ effekt på mängden knott. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chronic illness; behavioural medicine; inflammatory bowel disease; cancer; chronic illness-specific measures; mental health; physical health; emotion regulation; acceptance and commitment therapy; mindfulness; compassion-focused therapy; MIND programme; doença crónica; medicina comportamental; doença inflamatória intestinal; cancro; medidas específicas para a doença crónica; saúde mental; saúde física; regulação emocional; terapia de aceitação e compromisso; mindfulness; terapia focada na compaixão; programa MIND;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Chronic illness is an increasingly predominant problem among the world population which vastly impacts on physical and mental health, quality of life and social functioning. Although chronic illnesses merit a long-term and complex response which would be ideally delivered by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, most of the current healthcare for chronic illnesses still focus on acute episodes of illness. 4. 39. Water transport regulation: Biochemical and structural analyses of eukaryotic aquaporins

    Författare :Anna Maria Nyblom; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; X-ray crystallography; regulation; aquaporins; function; structure; membrane proteins;

    Sammanfattning : Water is essential for all living beings. Aquaporins are water channel proteins embedded in the membranes of cells. These macromolecules are found in all kingdoms of life and they control water homeostasis by diverse regulation mechanisms. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Tripeptidyl-Peptidase II : Structure, Function and Gene Regulation

    Författare :Ann-Christin Lindås; Birgitta Tomkinson; Mikael Widersten; Ralf Morgenstern; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biochemistry; gene regulation; protein expression; enzyme kinetics; tripeptidyl-peptidase II; proteasome; intracellular protein degradation; exopeptidase; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The protein degradation process is of vital importance for the cell to maintain cellular functions. An important enzyme in this process is the multimeric tripeptidyl-peptidase II (TPP II). It removes tripeptides from a free N-terminus of the substrates. LÄS MER
