1. Progress of Weak Affinity Chromatography as a Tool in Drug Development
Sammanfattning : Weak Affinity Chromatography (WAC) is a technology that was developed to analyse weak (KD > 10-5 M) although selective interactions between biomolecules. The focus of this thesis was to develop this method for various applications in the drug development process.Fragment Based Drug Discovery is a new approach in finding new small molecular drugs. 2. Tec family kinases : transcriptional and posttranslational regulation
Sammanfattning : Tec family tyrosine kinases consist of five members: Btk, Itk, Tec, Rlk/Txk and Bmx. These kinases are highly expressed in hematopoietic cells, including B cells, T cells and mast cells. LÄS MER
3. Structural biology of transcriptional regulation in the c-Myc network
Sammanfattning : The oncogene c-‐Myc is overexpressed in many types of human cancers and regulation of c-‐Myc expression is crucial in a normal cell. The intrinsically disordered N-‐terminal transactivation domain interacts with a wide range of proteins regulating c-‐Myc activity. LÄS MER
4. Regulation of RNA Editing : The impact of inosine on the neuronal transcriptome
Sammanfattning : The transcriptome of the mammalian brain is extensively modified by adenosine to inosine (A-to-I) nucleotide conversion by two adenosine deaminases (ADAR1 and ADAR2). As adenosine and inosine have different base pairing properties, A-to-I RNA editing shapes the functional output of both coding and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in the brain. LÄS MER
5. Diversifying the transcriptome : Adenosine-to-inosine RNA editing in the mammalian brain
Sammanfattning : Metazoan transcriptomes are extensively modified by adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing, a process by which adenosines within double-stranded RNA are enzymatically deaminated to form inosines. Inosines has base-pairing characteristics similar to guanosine, meaning that A-to-I RNA editing results in functional rewriting of transcripts, affecting many biological processes. LÄS MER
