  1. 11. Theoretical and Phenomenological Studies of Neutrino Physics

    Författare :Mattias Blennow; Tommy Ohlsson; Eligio Lisi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; neutrino mass; neutrino mixing; neutrino oscillations; matter effects; non-standard effects; the day-night effect; solar neutrinos; accelerator neutrinos; exact solutions; three-flavor effects; large density; neutrino decay; neutrino decoherence; neutrino absorption; non-standard neutrino interactions; seesaw mechanism; stability criteria; leptogenesis; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to the theory and phenomenology of neutrino physics. While the standard model of particle physics has been extremely successful, it fails to account for massive neutrinos, which are necessary to describe the observations of neutrino oscillations made by several different experiments. 2. 12. Reconceptualising teacher self-efficacy in relation to teacher identity : A longitudinal phenomenological study of pre-service secondary mathematics teachers during initial teacher education

    Författare :Gosia Marschall; Eva Norén; Kerstin Pettersson; Steven Watson; Markku Hannula; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; abduction; initial teacher education; longitudinal phenomenological study; narrative identity; narrative self-schema; pre-service secondary mathematics teachers; teacher professional learning; teacher self-efficacy; Mathematics Education; matematikämnets didaktik;

    Sammanfattning : This research involves a conceptual investigation of teacher self-efficacy and its appraisal by focusing on how five pre-service secondary mathematics teachers make meaning of their experiences in the process of their development. Recognising methodological limitations of previous studies in the area, this one-year longitudinal study uses abduction and interpretative phenomenological analysis of qualitative data collected from participants’ written weekly reflections, planning documents, lesson observations and interviews. 3. 13. Oases of Air : A Phenomenological Study of John Banville's Science Tetralogy

    Författare :Joakim Wrethed; H.W. Fawkner; David Pierce; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; John Banville; science tetralogy; contemporary Irish fiction; aseity; air; substance; phenomenology; intentionality; constitution; epistemology; Literature; Litteraturvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This phenomenological study of John Banville’s fiction exhibits the way in which Doctor Copernicus, Kepler, The Newton Letter, and Mefisto persistently present air as a constituting factor. Air occurs as a phenomenological oasis permitting constitution to effectuate disclosure ex nihilo. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Phenomenological Studies on Supersymmetry and the Strong Force

    Författare :Peter Skands; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; R-parity violation; Physics; beam remnants; hadronisation; parton showers; underlying event; Supersymmetry; Fysik; QCD; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Skands;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we first consider the phenomenology of R-parity violating supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. Specifically, a large number of Lepton and Baryon Number violating decays of sparticles to particles are implemented in the Pythia event generator. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Finite element simulation of transformation plasticity in martensitic transformation

    Författare :Kjell Simonsson; Sören Sjöström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Phase transformations. transformation plasticity; micromechanical models; martensitic transformation; finite element simulations. thermodynamics; moving interface; mechanical dissipation; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This study is concerned with the simulation of transformation plasticity in martensitic transformation. In the first paper the concept of a transformation plasticity strain is introduced from a phenomenological point of view. LÄS MER
