  1. 26. Nitriles in Prebiotic Chemistry and Astrobiology

    Författare :Hilda Sandström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; astrobiology; polymer chemistry; hydrogen cyanide; density functional theory; molecular dynamics; metadynamics; umbrella sampling; prebiotic chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Life appeared on Earth within a billion years of the planet’s formation. How? - no one knows. Theories regarding the origin of life involve reactions of molecules predicted to have existed on early Earth in what is called prebiotic chemistry. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a serious disease expected to be the world-leading cause of death in the 21st century. The use of harsh chemotherapies is motivated and accepted but, unfortunately, is often accompanied by severe toxicity and adverse drug reactions (ADRs). LÄS MER

  3. 28. Regiocontrol in the Heck-reaction and fast fluorous chemistry

    Författare :Kristofer Olofsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; palladium; Heck-koppling; regiokontroll; MAO-hämmare; ssao-hämmare; mikrovågskemi; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry; organisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The palladium-catalysed Heck-reaction has been utilised in organic synthesis, where the introduction of aryl groups at the internal, β-carbon of different allylic substrates has been achieved with high regioselectivity.The β-stabilising effect of silicon enhances the regiocontrol in the internal arylation of allyltrimethylsilane, while a coordination between palladium and nitrogen induces very high regioselectivities in the arylation of N,N-dialkylallylamines and the Boc-protected allylamine, producing β-arylated arylethylamines, which are of interest for applications in medicinal chemistry. 4. 29. Mass Transport through Phase Separated Films - Effects of Ethyl Cellulose Molecular Weight on Cellulose Derivative Blends for Pharmaceutical Coatings

    Författare :Helene Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Coating; Ethyl cellulose; Diffusion; Mass transport; Solvent evaporation; Molecular weight; Phase separation; Film; Hydroxypropyl cellulose; Polymer blend; Cellulose derivatives; Controlled release;

    Sammanfattning : Polymer blends are utilized for a variety of applications, not least in pharmaceutical coatings for controlled release of drugs. For instance, blends of ethyl cellulose (EC) and the water-soluble hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) can be used to coat drug pellets for oral extendedrelease formulations. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Condensation of DNA for Gene Delivery: Studies on Vector-Nucleic Acid Interactions and Transfection Efficiency

    Författare :Kristina Fant; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dendrimer; endocytosis; uptake; gene delivery; optical spectroscopy; structure-activity relationship; DNA; cell-penetrating peptide;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the delivery of nucleic acids into cells and tissues with the aim to change or correct gene expression. The field of gene delivery has the ultimate goal of producing genetic drugs for clinical applications, and the activity in this area is intense although so far the use is limited to research purposes.
