  1. 16. Fast Chemistry by Microwave Heating : First Descriptions of Highly Enantioselective Microwave Protocols for Metal Catalysis; First Descriptions of in-situ Gas Generation for Fast Combinatorial Microwave Chemistry

    Författare :Nils-Fredrik K. Kaiser; C. O.; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry; organisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Microwave heating was applied to different palladium-catalyzed allylic substitution reactions. The use of various nucleophiles demonstrated C-, N-, O- and S- nucleophilicity. High yields and stereopurities of the corresponding alkyls, amides, ethers and sulfones were afforded after only 30 – 120 s of heating. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Spirocyclization and Carbonylation Reactions : Ligands Targeting the Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor

    Författare :Jens Lindman; Mats Larhed; Johan Gising; Christian Sköld; Alessandra Tolomelli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Palladium catalysis; Mizoroki-Heck reaction; spiroindolines; spirooxindoles; amino acids; carbonylation; angiotensin II type 2 receptor; AT2R ligands; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Sammanfattning : Palladium(0)-catalyzed chemistry represents one of the most important methods for the construction of carbon-carbon bonds, which are ubiquitous in organic compounds. The first part of this thesis describes the palladium(0)-catalyzed diastereoselective Mizoroki-Heck reaction of Vince lactam-derived precursors for the formation of spiroindolines (paper I) and spirooxindoles, which are scaffolds present in several natural products with interesting biological activity. 3. 18. Following the mevalonate pathway to bone heal alley

    Författare :Björn Skoglund; Lars Nordsletten; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Bone screws; coated materials; biocompatible; chemistry; diphosphonates; pharmacology; Equipment failure analysis methods; Femoral fractures; drug therapy; fracture fixation; instrumentation; Fracture fixation; fracture healing; drug effects; simvastatin; tibial fractures; physiopathologyial fractures; surgery; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Other veterinary medicine; Övrig veterinärmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The mevalonate pathway is an important biosynthetic pathway, found in all cells of virtually all known pro- as well as eukaryotic organisms. This thesis is an investigation into the use of two drugs, originally developed for different applications, but both affecting the mevalonate pathway, in to models of fracture repair. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Development of HIV-1 Protease Inhibitors and Palladium-Catalyzed Synthesis of Aryl Ketones and N-Allylbenzamides

    Författare :Linda Axelsson; Mats Larhed; Anders Karlén; Luke Odell; Morten Grötli; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The use of palladium-catalyzed reactions to introduce new carbon-carbon bonds is a fundamental synthetic strategy that has been widely embraced due to its high chemo- and regioselectivity and functional group tolerance. In this context, Pd(0)-catalyzed aminocarbonylations using Mo(CO)6 instead of toxic and gaseous CO and with allylamine as the nucleophile were investigated. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Molecular Mechanisms of Resin Acids and Their Derivatives on the Opening of a Potassium Channel

    Författare :Nina Ottosson; Fredrik Elinder; David Engblom; Bertil Hille; Linköpings universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Voltage-gated ion channels play fundamental roles in excitable cells, such as neurons, where they enable electric signaling. Normally, this signaling is well controlled, but brain damage, alterations in the ionic composition of the extracellular solution, or dysfunctional ion channels can increase the electrical excitability thereby causing epilepsy.
