  1. 31. Surviving under water : Physiological limitations and technical possibilities

    Författare :Mårten Silvanius; Oskar Frånberg; Rachel Lance; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diving; diving apparatus; unmanned testing; hyperbaric; scuba; oxygen sensor; composite gas cylinder; carbon dioxide monitoring; decompression; hyperbaric oxygen therapy; Systemteknik; Systems Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The survival of humans in underwater environments necessitates a comprehensive understanding of both physiological factors and advanced technologies. Diving with self-contained underwater breathing apparatuses (SCUBA) remains one of the most common ways for human underwater activities. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Hematopoietic stem cells: c-mpl and TNF receptor function

    Författare :Veslemøy Ramsfjell; Avdelningen för molekylärmedicin och genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tumor necrosis factor-a.; in vivo reconstitution; ex vivo expansion; long-term bone marrow culture; differentiation; proliferation; synergy; Hematopoietic stem cells; thrombopoietin; Haematology; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are crucial to life. Daily and throughout the life span of an individual they are responsible for replacing approximately 10(12) mature blood cells. Mature cells are, for example, required for transportation of oxygen, defense against infections and to stop bleeding. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Influence of liquid diffusion on the performance of polymer materials in industrial applications

    Författare :Stefanie Römhild; Mikael Hedenqvist; Lars Berglund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LCP; Vectra A950; thermoset resin; FRP; diffusion; disclination; annealing; lining; bonding; long-term properties in water; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion of liquids into and through polymers is an important factor that negatively may influence the durability or lifetime of a polymer structure used in industrial applications. In this work two types of polymers, a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP, Vectra A950) and various thermoset resins as used in fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) process equipment were studied with regard to barrier properties, chemical resistance and long-term performance. 4. 34. Structure-Performance Relations of Oxygen Barriers for Food Packaging

    Författare :Åsa Nyflött; Magnus Lestelius; Ellen Moons; Lars Järnström; Carlsson Kvarnlöf Gunilla; Chris Bonnerup; José Maria Lagaron; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Barrier coating; Permeability; Dynamic Mass Transport; Modelling; Diffusion; Polymer; Dispersion; Kaolin; LCA; Starch; Hemicellulose; Materials Science; Materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Food packaging should ensure the safety and quality of food, minimize spoilage and provide an easy way of storing and handling it. Barrier coatings are generally used to meet the demands placed on fibre-based food packages, as these have the ability to regulate the amount of gases that can enter them. LÄS MER

  5. 35. CO2 Capture using Chemical-Looping Combustion – Operational Experience with Gaseous and Solid Fuels

    Författare :Carl Johan Linderholm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nickel oxide; coal; natural gas; chemical-looping combustion CLC ; oxygen carrier; CO2 capture; manganese ore; interconnected fluidized beds; ilmenite;

    Sammanfattning : CO2 capture and storage has been proposed as an alternative to mitigate global warming. Chemical-looping combustion (CLC) is an unmixed combustion concept where fuel and combustion air are kept separate by means of an oxygen carrier, and the CO2 capture is inherently achieved. LÄS MER
