The aim of the study is to clarify what it means to say that the method suggested by Wittgenstein in his seminal work Philosophical Investigations makes possible a study of religion which is not reductionistic, but rather is adequate concerning religious phenomena.     Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the importance of regional variation in prehistory. In Kareby parish, in southern Bohuslän, western Sweden, a large burial mound was partially excavated in the 1960’s. A person in the Faxe mound, was buried with a belt plate, a dagger and arm rings.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of the study has been, by adopting a view of life and a learning perspective, to reach an understanding of the way in which cancer patients in a palliative care context understand and cope with their existential life situation. I asked the following questions: 1) How does their personal view of life influence the patients’ understanding and coping with the illness and existential life situation? 2) What existential questions are central to the patients? 3) What is personal learning all about? 4) What prerequisites are important for fostering the patients’ personal learning? Interviews focusing on narratives were conducted with ten patients who have an incurable cancer disease. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of the present study was to obtain an in-depth understanding of what the final phase of life was like for a group of gravely ill and dying cancer patients, with focus on autonomy, dependency and quality of life. The specific aims were to: 1) describe the patients' autonomy and how the attitudes of relatives and staff promoted/hindered patient participation in decision-making, 2) describe how the patients assessed their quality of life in two care cultures, 3) describe how members of the care team prognosticated the patients' remaining survival time, and 4) investigate continuity of care site in two different care cultures during the patients' final month of life.
