1. Rum utan utsikt : Fönster och ljus i medeltida byggnader
Sammanfattning : Windows, light and a view are self-evident parts of contemporary interiors. This was not the case in Scandinavia during the Middle Ages (c. 1050–1520 CE), when closed spaces without wall openings were standard. LÄS MER
2. Evaluation of Road Equipment with Emphasis on Condition Assessment
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis deals primarily with condition assessment of road equipment. The road equipment concept is defined by five main groups, road lighting, fences and barriers, vertical signs, horizontal signs and traffic signals, respectively. LÄS MER
3. Mid-infrared photonic devices for on-chip optical gas sensing
Sammanfattning : Gas detection is crucial in a wide range of fields and applications, such as safety and process control in the industry, atmospheric sciences, and breath diagnostics. Optical gas sensing offers some key advantages, compared to other sensing methods such as electrochemical and semiconductor sensing: high specificity, fast response, and minimal drift. LÄS MER
4. Office work and physical factors : health aspects of electromagnetic fields and light
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis is to increase our knowledge of the physical environment of office workers with special focus on electromagnetic fields and to address the question of whether electromagnetic fields can directly or indirectly contribute to symptoms or discomfort among video display terminal ( VDT) workers. Furthermore, we have measured light modulation from various commonly used light sources in laboratory conditions and, as a second step, used modulated light as stimulus for provocation of neurophysiological responses in persons with perceived “electrical hypersensitivity” (EHS). 5. Development of techniques for light isotope analysis at LIBAF
Sammanfattning : The overall goal of this thesis is to test new detector technologies and data acquisition systems, for use in Ion Beam Analysis IBA. This is intended to complement the existing setup, which is routinely used at Lund Ion beam Analysis Facility LIBAF. LÄS MER
