11. Inhibition of acute allogaft rejection - experimental transplant studies with biological and chemical immunosuppressants
Sammanfattning : In clinical transplantation immunosuppressive agents are used in combination with the objective to achieve additive effects and less toxicity. A large number of novel drugs are candidates for clinical introduction at this time and experiments in animal models have an important role to play. LÄS MER
12. Healing of endosseous implants with different surface characteristics in grafted and non-grafted bone : clinical and experimental studies
Sammanfattning : Aims: This study uses radiological and clinical evaluations of the healing of endosseous titanium implants presented with different surface characteristics in the clinical situation (paper I-III) and experimentally to describe the early bone healing in maxillary sinus membrane elevation with and without the use of grafting material (paper IV).Material and methods: In paper I, 136 patients were treated with 394 dental implants – 199 were oxidized titanium implants (Nobel Biocare TiUnite) and 195 were turned titanium surface implants (Nobel Biocare Mark III). 13. Aspects on Imaging and Endovascular Treatment of Aortic Dissection and Aneurysm
Sammanfattning : Aortic aneurysm and dissections are potentially life threatening conditions. The advent of endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) and thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has reduced perioperative mortality and morbidity and are now established therapy methods for treatment of aortic disease. 15. Atrial fibrillation : endoscopic ablation and postoperative studies
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with an increased risk of stroke, heart failure and cardiovascular death. Initial treatment focuses on rhythm or rate control and anticoagulation after risk assessment. Catheter abla-tion (CA) is an option in highly symptomatic patients but is less effective in long-standing persistent AF(LSPAF). LÄS MER
