26. Functional and Modular As=C and P=C Group Motifs
Sammanfattning : This work focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application projections of low-coordinated heavy pnictogen-containing (described by the generic letter E, hence E=C) phosphaalkenes (P=C) and arsaalkenes (As=C), with emphasis on the E=C group motifs. The work aims to understand their functional and modular character, reactivity, and potential applications by stabilizing, isolating, and characterizing these species in low-coordination environments. 27. Quantum Chemical Studies of Mechanisms and Stereoselectivities of Organocatalytic Reactions
Sammanfattning : As the field of organocatalysis is growing, it is becoming more important to understand the specific modes of action of these new organic catalysts. Quantum chemistry, in particular density functional theory, has proven very powerful in exploring reaction mechanisms as well as selectivities in organocatalytic reactions, and is the tool used in this thesis. 28. Computational Methods in Medicinal Chemistry : Mechanistic Investigations and Virtual Screening Development
Sammanfattning : Computational methods have become an integral part of drug development and can help bring new and better drugs to the market faster. The process of predicting the biological activity of large compound collections is known as virtual screening, and has been instrumental in the development of several drugs today in the market. 29. Electrically Conducting Yarns for Electronic Textiles
Sammanfattning : Electronic textiles (e-textiles) present a huge opportunity to incorporate wearable devices into textiles. Electrically conducting yarns and fibers can be utilized to create these e-textiles. For e-textiles to be wearable the development of electrically conducting yarns needs to rely on materials that are neither scares nor toxic. LÄS MER
30. Cationic Dendritic Polymers and Their Hybridization with Cellulose Nanofibrils
Sammanfattning : Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the major global threats to thehealth of humans, animals, plants and ecosystems. AMR arises whenbacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites undergo changes over time; makingmedicines such as antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals and antiparasiticineffective at treating infections.
