17. Computational homogenisation and solution strategies for phase-field fracture
Sammanfattning : The computational modelling of fracture not only provides a deep insight into the underlying mechanisms that trigger a fracture but also offers information on the post-fracture behaviour (e.g., residual strength) of engineering materials and structures. LÄS MER
18. Sequential Data Learning, Scalable Models and Adversarial Regularization
Sammanfattning : Time Series Prediction (TSP) has been used in mobile network traffic data analysis to produce predictive results for network planning and resource allocation. In the first part of this thesis, we propose a novel method of predicting mobile network traffic using neural networks based on conditional probability modeling between adjacent data windows in the time series sequence. 19. Probabilistic machine learning methods for automated radiation therapy treatment planning
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, different parts of an automated process for radiation therapy treatment planning are investigated from a mathematical and computational perspective. Whereas traditional inverse planning is labor-intensive, often comprising several reiterations between treatment planner and physician before a plan can be approved, much of recent research have been aimed at using a data-driven approach by learning from historically delivered plans. 20. On the Dynamics of Porous Media - Application to Road and Railway Structures
Sammanfattning : Load-bearing road and railway structures normally consist of layers of particulate porous materials, often with bitumen-based binders. The layered system is subjected to dynamic loading from traffic, which inevitably causes material deterioration that enhances permanent surface deformation. LÄS MER
