21. Application of Infrared and UV-Visible Remote Sensing Techniques for Studying the Stratosphere and for Estimating Antrophogenic Emissions
Sammanfattning : Infrared and UV/visible broadband absorption techniques have been used in three applications related to environmental research and atmospheric science. The techniques are based on measuring the attenuation of light by the atmosphere in the infrared and UV/visible region, and since a very large number of species absorb light in these wavelength regions, the techniques studied allow the measurement of several species simultaneously. 22. Fatigue behaviour of a nickel based superalloy
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with different aspects of fatigue crack propagation in IN718. The ultimate objective of the work is to gain understanding of the fatigue process, from the macroscopic stress-strain relations to microscopic fatigue crack growth mechanisms. LÄS MER
23. The Underground as a Storage Facility. Modelling of Nuclear Waste Repositories and Aquifer Thermal Energy Stores
Sammanfattning : The underground is a vast region, which is, too a large extent, unused by man. It has a large potential as a storage facility due to its vastness and availability. This thesis, which consists of eleven papers and reports, deals with nuclear waste repositories in solid rock and with aquifer thermal energy storage systems. LÄS MER
24. Effektivisering av pump- och fläktdrifter i byggnader. Elanvändning och systemlösningar
Sammanfattning : In this licentiate work the energy savings potential by more efficient pump and fan operation in buildings has been examined. The national savings potential in Sweden has been estimated based on available statistics and on information gained in a limited inventory. The estimated energy use for pump operation in residential and commercial (i.e. LÄS MER
25. Development of an efficient solver for detailed kinetics in reactive flows
Sammanfattning : The use of chemical kinetic mechanisms in CAE tools for reactive flow simulations is of high importance for studying and predicting pollutant formation. However, usage of complex reaction schemes is accompanied by high computational cost in both 1D and 3D-CFD frameworks. LÄS MER
