  2. 12. Dynamics of ecological communities in variable environments : local and spatial processes

    Författare :Linda Kaneryd; Bo Ebenman; Peter Münger; Michael S. Fowler; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The ecosystems of the world are currently facing a variety of anthropogenic perturbations, such as climate change, fragmentation and destruction of habitat, overexploitation of natural resources and invasions of alien species. How the ecosystems will be affected is not only dependent on the direct effects of the perturbations on individual species but also on the trophic structure and interaction patterns of the ecological community. 3. 13. The Performance of a Multi Cylinder HCCI Engine using Variable Compression Ratio and Fast Thermal Management

    Författare :Jari Hyvönen; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Variable Compression Ratio; Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition VCR; termodynamik; Motors and propulsion systems; Termisk teknik; applied thermodynamics; Thermal engineering; Cylinder-to-cylinder; Turbocharging; Multi cylinder; Cylinder balancing; Thermal Management; HCCI;

    Sammanfattning : The prime mover in the world today is the Internal Combustion (IC) engine. The development and improvement of the internal combustion engines since Nicolaus August Otto and Rudolf Diesel has continued until today and will continue long into the future. No major competitor to the IC engine has yet emerged. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Adapting Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems for Office Buildings without Active Control Dampers

    Författare :Mari-Liis Maripuu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; climate control; CAV; variable supply air diffuser; ventilation; VAV; energy efficiency;

    Sammanfattning : In commercial buildings the building services systems may account for a substantial part of the need of energy. There is, at least in Sweden, a large existing stock of 20 to 30 year old office buildings, which are supplied with centralised constant air volume flow (CAV) air conditioning systems with the primary function to keep the room temperature at an acceptable level summertime. 5. 15. Applicability of thermal energy storage in future district heating system - Design methodologies and performance evaluations

    Författare :Yichi Zhang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low-temperature district heating; demand-side management; low energy buildings; Thermal energy storage; district heating; variable renewable energy;

    Sammanfattning : District heating (DH) enables efficient and economical utilization of energy resources to satisfy the heat and hot water demands in buildings and is, thereby, well-established in Northern European countries. To achieve the future renewable energy system, the current DH systems are proved to undergo transitions towards the future DH systems, with major characteristics including renewable-based heat sources, low temperature networks, lower heating demands and smart controls.
