  1. 1. Development of an efficient solver for detailed kinetics in reactive flows

    Författare :Andrea Matrisciano; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tabulated chemistry; Progress Variable; Stochastic Reactor Model; Detailed chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The use of chemical kinetic mechanisms in CAE tools for reactive flow simulations is of high importance for studying and predicting pollutant formation. However, usage of complex reaction schemes is accompanied by high computational cost in both 1D and 3D-CFD frameworks. LÄS MER

    Författare :Martin Hjelm; Danica Kragic; Markus Vincze; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; robotics; robotic grasping; grasping; cognition; embodied cognition; computer vision; machine learning; artificial intelligence; AI; Gaussian process; Gaussian process latent variable model; GPLVM; 3D vision; point cloud features; robotik; manipulation; datorseende; maskininlärning; artificiell intelligens; kognition; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : Most of us perform grasping actions over a thousand times per day without giving it much consideration, be it from driving to drinking coffee. Learning robots the same ease when it comes to grasping has been a goal for the robotics research community for decades. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Asymptotic Giant Branch stars viewed up-close and far-off : The physics, chemistry, and evolution of their circumstellar envelopes

    Författare :Matthias Maercker; Hans Olofsson; Fredrik L. Schöier; Laurentius B. F. M. Waters; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; AGB stars; evolution; mass-loss; abundances; Astronomy; Astronomi; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Sammanfattning : The asymptotic giant branch (AGB) is the last stage of stellar evolution for stars with masses between 0.8-8 M(sun). This phase is characterised by an intense mass loss, which builds up a circumstellar envelope of dust and gas(CSE). It is through this process that the AGB stars contribute to the chemical evolution of galaxies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of Transient Flamelet Library Based Combustion Models

    Författare :Harry Lehtiniemi; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; auto-ignition; conditional moment closure; Tabulated chemistry; flamelet; spray; non-premixed combustion; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Lehtiniemi;

    Sammanfattning : Three different methods for Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes computational fluid dynamics modeling of non-premixed ignition and combustion using tabulated chemistry have been developed. All methods make use of flamelet libraries, where the flamelet auto-ignition process is parameterized using a progress variable. LÄS MER
