1. Vapor phase deposition of WO and WC
Sammanfattning : WO3 and WC are two compounds that are widely used for a number of different thin film applications. In this thesis, these compounds have been deposited using two different deposition methods: atomic layer epitaxy (ALE) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD). LÄS MER
2. Covalent Vapor-Phase Grafting of Degradable Polymers
3. Characterization of WC-Co tools used for machining of Alloy 718 under the influence of high-pressure coolant supply
Sammanfattning : The use of high-pressure jets for supply of coolant to the cutting zone has the potential to significantly increase the productivity and process stability when machining difficult-to-cut materials such as Ni-based superalloys. Apart from better chip-breakability, the jets enable the coolant to reach closer to the cutting edge and hence enhance its capability to dissipate heat. LÄS MER
4. Epitaxy and characterization of SiGeC layers grown by reduced pressure chemical vapor deposition
Sammanfattning : Heteroepitaxial SiGeC layers have attracted immenseattention as a material for high frequency devices duringrecent years. The unique properties of integrating carbon inSiGe are the additional freedom for strain and bandgapengineering as well as allowing more aggressive device designdue to the potential for increased thermal budget duringprocessing. 5. Skin hydration - How water and osmolytes influence biophysical properties of stratum corneum
Sammanfattning : The outermost layer of skin (i.e., the stratum corneum, SC) is the interface that separates the water-rich inside of the body from the relatively dry external environment. SC forms an effective permeability barrier, which has to be overcome in transdermal drug delivery. LÄS MER
