  1. 1. Psychosocial stress in relation to blood pressure and cardivascular disease - epidemiological and genetic aspects

    Författare :Bertil Öhlin; Internmedicin - epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; receptor; Cardiovascular system; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; adrenergic; alpha-2; beta-1; mortality; morbidity; prospective; studies; polymorphism; work; stress; blood pressure; hypertension;

    Sammanfattning : Psychosocial stress has been linked to both hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD), and hypertension has been proposed to be one mediator of the increased CVD risk in subjects reporting stress. Genetic susceptibility for blood pressure elevation in relation to stress has been proposed, but so far there is little evidence. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Genetic studies on cardiovascular disease - identification of novel drug targets

    Författare :Stefan Amisten; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; platelet; single nucleotide polymorphism; myocardial infarction; stent; G-protein coupled receptor; P2Y; cytogenetics; Genetik; cytogenetik; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to identify novel potential drug targets of cardiovascular disease with a focus on G-protein coupled receptors. We identified a common genetic variant of the ATP receptor P2Y11, where an alanine is substituted with a threonine at position 87 of the P2Y11 receptor that increases the risk of developing acute myocardial infarction. 3. 3. Experimental and Clinical Studies on Platelet Receptors in Cardiovascular Disease

    Författare :Oscar Braun; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; inflammation; athersosclerosis; platelets; thrombosis; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet;

    Sammanfattning : The crucial role of platelets in maintaining primary hemostais has been evident for a long time and there is now also mounting evidence for their involvement in inflammation. In combination with aspirin, inhibition of the platelet P2Y12 ADP receptor with clopidogrel has become a cornerstone in the antiplatelet in acute coronary syndromes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Coronary Reactive Hyperemia

    Författare :Göran Olivecrona; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; t-PA; P2Y1-receptors; Hypothermia; Coronary; Reactive hyperemia;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: The mechanism of post ischemic reactive hyperemia is still unknown but now thought to be multifactorial and perhaps involving purinergic signalling. Purines such as ATP and ADP have recently been discovered to play a vital role in the regulation of vascular tone. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Endogenous activators of the pain receptor TRPV1 From cell to man

    Författare :Pouya Movahed Rad; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; cannabinoids; capsazepine; N-acylethanolamines; anandamide; blood Circulation; vasodilation; humans; calcitonin Gene-related Peptide; capsaicin; neurogenic inflammation; nociceptors; TRPV1 protein; pain;

    Sammanfattning : N-acylethanolamines (NAEs) belong to a growing family of endogenous signalling molecules acting on a variety of receptors and ion channels. In 1992, it was reported that the N-acylethanolamine anandamide is present in the brain and activates the central cannabinoid (CB) receptor. LÄS MER
