  1. 6. Aspects of analysis of small-sample right censored data using generalized Wilcoxon rank tests

    Författare :Marie-Louise Öhman; Hans Nyquist; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Censored generalized Wilcoxon rank test statistics; Variance estimation; Jackknifing; Influence function; Gross error sensitivity; Break-Down point; Sensitivity curve; Location parameter estimation; Product-Limit estimator and Monte-Carlo Simulation; Statistics; computer and systems science; Statistik; data- och systemvetenskap; Statistics; statistik;

    Sammanfattning : The estimated bias and variance of commonly applied and jackknife variance estimators and observed significance level and power of standardised generalized Wilcoxon linear rank sum test statistics and tests, respectively, of Gehan and Prentice are compared in a Monte Carlo simulation study. The variance estimators are the permutational-, the conditional permutational- and the jackknife variance estimators of the test statistic of Gehan, and the asymptotic- and the jackknife variance estimators of the test statistic of Prentice. 2. 7. Influence of Global Composition and Local Environment on the Spectroscopic and Magnetic Properties of Metallic Alloys

    Författare :Weine Olovsson; Igor A. Abrikosov; G. Malcolm Stocks; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; core level shift; random alloy; first principles simulations; density functional theory; auger kinetic energy; Invar alloys; exchange parameter; classical Heisenberg Hamiltonian; complete screening; transition state; disorder broadening; Fysik; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Theoretical investigations of spectroscopic and magnetic properties of metallic systems in the bulk, as well as in nanostructured materials, have been performed within the density functional theory. The major part of the present work studies the differences between binding energies of electrons tightly bound to the atoms, the so-called core electrons (in contrast with the valence electrons), that is, core-level binding energy shift (CLS). 3. 8. The influence of modelling parameters on the simulation of car tyre rolling losses and rolling noise

    Författare :Carsten Hoever; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; rolling resistance; modelling parameters; parameter study; radiation; tyre road noise; tyres; tyre road interaction; waveguide finite element;

    Sammanfattning : Due to legislative changes within the EU there is an increased demand for improvement in car tyre rolling resistance and noise generation. Yet, apart from empirical data based on measurements, there is little information concerning the relationship between rolling resistance and rolling noise generation. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Non-coagulating milk from Swedish Red Dairy Cattle : Influence of milk composition, physical properties and genetic parameters

    Författare :Kajsa Nilsson; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Non-coagulating milk; genetic parameter; milk composistion; heritability; protein profile; hydrolysation;

    Sammanfattning : Non-coagulating (NC) milk is unwanted in cheese production, as it lowers cheese yield and prolongs processing time. Less yield will lead to economic losses at the dairies. Even if NC milk has been found in several breeds, studies suggest that Swedish Red Dairy cattle (RDC) has a higher frequency of NC milk than most other breeds. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Influence of running-in on gear efficiency

    Författare :Sören Sjöberg; Ulf Olofsson; Björklund Stefan; Lehtovaara Arto; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; gears; gear manufacturing; running-in; efficiency; friction; surface topography; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : The general trend in gear industry is an increased focus on gear transmission efficiency. This thesis focuses on the understanding of how different gear manufacturing methods – particularly the contribution of the running-in process – affect the surface characteristics and friction response, with the purpose of increasing gearbox efficiency.
