  1. 1. Nonparametric tests for comparing two treatments by using ordinal data

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro universitetsbibliotek

    Författare :Helen Wahlström; Örebro universitet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Statistik; change; clinical trial; Monte Carlo; ordered categorical data; paired data; permutation test; Pitman efficiency; power; stratification; ties; visual analogue scale; Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney statistic; statistik; SOCIAL SCIENCES Statistics; computer and systems science Statistics; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP Statistik; data- och systemvetenskap Statistik; Statistics; Statistik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns four nonparametric tests for comparing two treatments in a randomized controlled clinical trial when the main response variable generates discrete or continuous ordinal data and measurements are made at baseline and follow-up.In the Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test (WMW) the baseline values are not taken into account at all, but in the other three tests both baseline and follow-up values are used. 2. 2. Multiple Time Scales and Longitudinal Measurements in Event History Analysis

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Statistik

    Författare :Danardono; Umeå universitet.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Statistics; Cox regression; multiple events; proportiona hazards; random effects; survival analysis; time-dependent covariates; time origin; Statistik; SOCIAL SCIENCES Statistics; computer and systems science Statistics; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP Statistik; data- och systemvetenskap Statistik; Statistics; statistik;

    Sammanfattning : A general time-to-event data analysis known as event history analysis is considered. The focus is on the analysis of time-to-event data using Cox's regression model when the time to the event may be measured from different origins giving several observable time scales and when longitudinal measurements are involved. 3. 3. Contributions to the Theory of Measures of Association for Ordinal Variables

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Joakim Ekström; Uppsala universitet.; [2009]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SOCIAL SCIENCES Statistics; computer and systems science Statistics; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP Statistik; data- och systemvetenskap Statistik; Statistics; statistik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we consider measures of association for ordinal variables from a theoretical perspective. In particular, we study the phi-coefficient, the tetrachoric correlation coefficient and the polychoric correlation coefficient. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four manuscripts in the area of nonlinear time series econometrics on topics of testing, modeling and forecasting nonlinear common features. The aim of this thesis is to develop new econometric contributions for hypothesis testing and forecasting in thesearea.Both stationary and nonstationary time series are concerned. LÄS MER

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Kadri Meister; Umeå universitet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematical statistics; Finite population sampling; inferential issues; real time sampling; sequential sampling methods; negative sampling correlations; model-design-based inference; multivariate Bernoulli and multinomial designs; Matematisk statistik; MATHEMATICS Applied mathematics Mathematical statistics; MATEMATIK Tillämpad matematik Matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics; matematisk statistik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is composed of six papers, all dealing with the issue of sampling from a finite population. We consider two different topics: real time sampling and distributions in sampling. The main focus is on Papers A–C, where a somewhat special sampling situation referred to as real time sampling is studied. LÄS MER
